I love CP2077’s narrative, Witcher 3 remains to be seen, so I’ll let you know what I think. We may just not see eye to eye on this.W3 is the pinnacle of CDPR and those devs have long left. Sure CP2077 is graphically impressive and finally is well optimised, equally the narrative pails in comparison to Witcher 3...
In short you got to put some work in to get the best out of Witcher and that I lilke...

RDR2 massive footprint on the drive, while well optimised will torture your GTX 1060. Is great game, but you need invest in it a lot to get the best out of it.Just finished Far Cry 4, 5 and 6 again. Have Primal and New Dawn, and 3.
Love the whole 5 gameplay. From creeping about with a knife, bow and arrows, to a full-on assault with two helicopters and Nick Fry’s plane. Jess swearing is excellent.
4 is great in it’s own way. Some huge range headshot arrow kills.
6 is a bit tedious, and the helicopter’s guns aren’t as aim-able.
3 is basic, but has it’s moments.
Primal is really good. Too many caves for me, but excellent.
New Dawn, I love the soundtrack
Was playing Elite Dangerous Oddessy before. Paid full price.
Grinded through, and got a great ship. But the bugs really are a problem. Sometimes at crucial points, which is very frustrating after 2 weeks exploration, then you lose your ship and data.
Deleted finally in disgust.
I’m currently looking for something new, but I’m quite fussy. Red Dead Redemption 2 looked like too much riding/walking. Stalker 2 is a maybe, but is it worth the bother? My i7 6700/GTX1060 6GB is a bit limited for this new stuff. Low graphics would be uninspiring, after Far Cry’s HD pack.
The System Shock 2 remake was interesting, but you have to set Hyperspace to easy, or it’s very hard.
One game I loved was the original “Hacker”. Now that is surprisingly fun. Good challenge. Basic graphics. Superb.
Half Life 1 is still excellent to fire up once in a blue moon.
Here’s Far Cry 5, on a Samsung 21/9 1440p. 32/9 would be even better I think.

I just put Asphalt Legends on my iPad. Decided to grind through that from the beginning. I played Asphalt 8 a lot 10 years ago, and it appears they’ve gone back to single click drifting, which is great. Used to do huge sessions on that. (Edit - Jesus, who am I kidding? I ain’t got time to watch 1,000 ads a day!)RDR2 massive footprint on the drive, while well optimised will torture your GTX 1060. STALKER 2 is still broken, better play the OG games with mods. Better yet play Radiophobia 3 is free and open source. This is STALKER for the hardcore, first game installed on my new system. Nothing comes close, you survive or you die. Need a fast CPU for this one.

Play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly, not much of a story but an epic sandbox and if you play your cards right your AI partner will be a woman. Don't get why all the western studios are fixated on making all the female characters butt ugly, equally don't care as it's not mandatory to buy garbage LOL. Relationships in games don't care, far prefer the real deal is more interesting that way and a little more complexI just put Asphalt Legends on my iPad. I’ve got music stuff to deal with too here, and that’s why I’m on Macs in the first place.
Cheers for the Stalker tip. I liked the original Russian speaking. Distinct lack of women though.
One thing about Far Cry 5, and New Dawn, was all the women were quite attractive in their own way, and it was easy to see yourself thinking amorous long-term stuff early on. Then as time progressed - you got their baggage and idiosyncrasies, and realised you had a batshxt crazy sidekick. Much like real life, except this costs just $50!
Ongoing relationships in games seems to be a trend now. Is that so?
I do remember if you chose a female character in Far Cry 6 - all the other women seemed distinctly lesbian, with weird looks in the cut scenes. I should try playing as a guy, and see what happens!
Oooh Matron!
Thanks for that. I’m downloading it now.Play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly, not much of a story but an epic sandbox and if you play your cards right your AI partner will be a woman. Probably a corrupt file, try downloading it again. Personally, I prefer Radiophobia 3 as is basically Shadow of Chernobyl on steroids. Will give Anthology a look at soon enough, want to finish up Post Trauma, get back into Silent Hill 2 and play out Cruelty first.Used 7-zip on PC to unpack.
Used launcher.
Checksum BP6 is missing.
Yeah. One more try. Once working I will go straight to Anthology probably.Probably a corrupt file, try downloading it again. Radiophobia 3 is pretty hardcore but been playing STALKER since release. If played a lot of STALKER I do rec R3, it's challenging but fair. Also has a lot of flexibility in the difficulty settings. Wouldn't be the best choice for a first play as is aimed at seasoned players.Yeah. One more try. Once working I will go straight to Anthology probably.
Radiophobia is probably too hardcore for me. Wild spawning, and no breathing space.
Cruelty needs a better computer than I have. Splatter horror ‘eh. Graphics look dreadful. Even Atari 520ST games were better than that for physics.
Post Trauma was just a guy running into walls constantly!

Not played too much of cruelty, runs well enough & looks ok this end. Think once you have moves figured out is a pretty short game, pretty gory but that's the point of it.
Post Trauma is sort of an indie mix of Resident Evil & Silent Hill, produced by a small team with a small price. Better than expected, can see it having a very dark narrative is starting to pan out that way. Is a UE5 game so need fair amount of performance. Game is clearly designed with a controller in mind; am an old-school gamer so can auto reverse the WSAD keys pretty much automatically. Can understand some players frustrations as it's not a skill you can pick up in a couple of hours.

Disappointing regarding Anomaly, I've not played it a good couple of years. You could try R3 it's free so nothing to lose. A lot of the STALKER mods are the same as they are literally stitched together by volunteers on their own time. Also think a lot depends on the PC as well as can be trouble to get running 100%. Some of the modified engines need surprisingly a lot of HW performance to run well as optimising them is difficult.Keyboard and Mouse for me.
Controller for driving games. Or iPad tilt on Asphalt Legends, which is great fun, if you have a cushion on your lap.
I got Anomaly working thanks.
It’s the original layout and terrain, with the same characters so far. Bit confused there, but it hopefully develops into something new for me. Learning the controls again.
I think Anthology awaits…
Edit - 15 minutes into Stalker, and the PDA won’t open, can’t show map. Simply deleted it. Very clunky compared to what I’m used to. Oh well.
Resident Evil 4- I was excited about this game, got it on sale, a short while back. I like the environment, but I am feeling like a real wimp because whatever these possessed people are, I just don’t have what it takes to fight them off. One or two does not seem overwhelming, but maybe it’s because you have a hard time killing so many at once, you can’t really do a stand-up fight against a group in the first village you come across. And the game only allows you to sneak so far before you are discovered and are forced to flee in circles.
I started on standard difficulty and became alarmed at how easy I could be overwhelmed, so I switched to assisted which is not really that much better, and I kinda hate the fact that I guess the game expects you to run around avoiding them for the five or 10 minutes, maybe kill one now and then, and you survive until when a church bell rings and they all go into stagger into the church mode.
I just don’t like being weak with a dictated flee mechanic. I probably won’t continue this.
Also just uninstalled:
- Witcher III- 3rd attempt, got farther than ever before (second zone), I acknowledge good quests, impressive narrative, but I just was not feeling the vibe that keeps me going in a game.
- Red Dead Redemption 2- great atmosphere and fidelity, but again the story. I can’t adequately make excuses for my feelings, but I disliked my characters mannerisms, his voice, and the self righteous gang leader annoyes me too. 🤔
- Rogue Galaxy- Got it for free, tried it, but it’s a bit too dated for me.
Personally? Yes.So, Cyberpunk is much better (Enjoyable) than Witcher III?
That's a fair point, although you have more self-determination playing as Geralt. V is far more on rails as a character.Personally? Yes.
For me, Cyberpunk is in my Top 25 all time games across genres (since 1981 on Apple][+ for context) ... whereas Witcher 3 is not in my Top 100.
Witcher 3 is an amazing game, but you are Geralt. In CP2077 you determine who this V person is.
All opinion of course...So, Cyberpunk is much better (Enjoyable) than Witcher III?
Great point. Witcher III has an amazing environment from the vistas to the weather that blows through, and its RPG structure is top notch.Personally? Yes.

Yeah. My i7 6700 is a bit dated I guess. The 6GB GTX1060 too. But I can play Far Cry 6 at Ultra settings, in 3180x1440, at 30fps. I won’t be buying a new PC - ever. There’s 20 years of good, classic games out there - just waiting for an oldie like me.Disappointing regarding Anomaly, I've not played it a good couple of years. Have played a good number over the years and a few I've gave up on as too problematic to get running well.
