When visiting relatives and Metal Storm was not working well, on iPad, I managed to come up with Eternium, a simplistic RPG that is built on the now frequently seen “play for free and grind to eternity or pay us cash to speed things up a bit” model. It’s acceptable. I do like the controls, I’m playing a mage, screen swipes for spells. I have paid cash to speed things up. 😳 Note also available on Steam.

Still Wakes The Deep & DLC Siren's Rest.

An excellent narrative game, Lovecraft done right crossed with David Cronenberg's body horror. Game is deeply immersive with tremendous attention to detail, definitely one to be played. Go in blind, you'll thank me spoilers will only serve to reduce your experience...

Also COD Modern Warfare 3.

Also have MW 4 & 2, the trilogy while independent games they form an over arcing narrative. For me still some of the best single player action FPS campaigns. MW 3 same as the other two games can be tweaked via the config files that can bring up the graphics for more capable PC's.

Finished up Still Wakes The Deep DLC - Siren's Rest, not bad, not great. Felt a little rushed and lacks the intrigue, tension & depth of the main game. All kudos for taking a different angle and different path in the same universe, end of the day is a fairly priced DLC.

Next Resident Evil HD Remake The classic survival horror with updated graphics...

First played on PS1, nothing bad to say. Some tweaks to the gameplay for the positive, still an older game and one that sticks in the mind...

Should be fun & games playing on KB & mouse, worse comes to worse can always break out the controller. Recently got through Post Trauma without the controller, so...

Ok so I watched Andor (amazed) then Rogue One (cried a little) , then I saw Star Wars Jedi Survivor on sale for $8… I knew it was a platformer, which I’m not keen on, but hanging in there with it, yet I turned off fall damage. Call me a woose. When you come to the realization of how times you’d die, might as well turn on suspension of disbelief, which is hard to do when your constantly dieing. Ok, not constantly, but a bit too much. 😉

Sigh, combat is too difficult for me to beat the first boss using a controller, even on easy. I was doing well, building up to it, but then I let the game sit for a week, and my muscle memory is not really learned. There are several 2 button combos that throw me. Also I really dislike having to repeat segments of the story upon death.
-uninstalled-

On to Starwars Squadrons 🤔

Resident Evil Zero

Resident Evil HD Remaster & Resident Evil Zero still really stand up both graphically and gameplay wise. Resident Evil Requiem is about to launch and looking good. Games that should be played...

There's a specific art style to these games, primarily out of HW restrictions however RE HD Remaster & RE Zero remain to still catch the eye even on HW never dreamt of on release. Naturally in the process of modding. Upscaled FMVs with greatly increased level of detail are a given 😎

I'm trying out the Star Trek Voyager demo on steam - the game is not out yet. Just the pre-release demo.

So far it seems fairly interesting, though there's too many discussion panels, to click through, and it takes you from when you start in the Voyager in the alpha quadrant to the Delta quadrant with the array. I just started so I don't know how playable the demo will be

Dare you push the limits?

In-game graphics hold up; gameplay is on you, can you win without ultimate retaliation...

n.b. is an older game and even the GOG release needs a community patch to run on latest HW Is an RTS with a strong campaign...

Is this like Wargame: European Escalation?
No. Is less simulation focused and more game centric. More importantly has a campaign you can actually play & enjoy. This one you play both sides so get a fuller picture of the ongoing events. You also switch from ground to air units of varying types. Overall World in Conflict remains to be pretty decent game and once patched very reliable having never crashed on my older Asus, same so far on the new Mechanical Revolution (AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D 16 core & RTX 5070 Ti)

If you go for the game, there is a sticky on the GOG forum to link to the patch if you need it. Game may not run, however the patch from PC Gaming Wiki will solve that. There's also a pretty solid community so the online aspect of the game can be revived if you want.

So it should go on Win11 and my hardware (sig)? Based on your comment, I’d want to see what ultimate retaliation looks like, but would use it as play off a save to a sane resolution. 😐

This looks really good, heading to GOG. 🙂

Am on latest W11 Pro(suitably silenced). Link to community patch if you need. Easy to spot as game won't start without on heavy multicore systems etc. more info on the page.

Ran the file through VirusTotal, onboard active AV & passive AV zero hits.

Deliver Us Mars (2023)

IMG_3785.jpeg

This is a very interesting game and narrative. It’s involves the damage our species has done to Earth and the quest to find alternatives to a trashed planet. It is a sequel to Deliver Us The Moon, which I have not yet played, but I read that it can be played as a standalone story, which I’m doing to be followed by the prequel.
There is a sequence where you board what I call a current technology rocketship that sits upright as a crew member you ride it from launch into orbit, operating controls to separate stages and ignite second stage thrusters, and it’s kind of thrilling and cinematic, compared to the other space flying in games that I’ve played. So far I conducted a space walk to repair damage to the ship from space debris and we’re headed for Mars. The narrative is good. It feels like being in an interactive movie, very immersive. Highly recommended.

Is a good narrative game, Deliver us the Moon is the better having a stronger and more compelling story. As you like Deliver us Mars you will be in for a treat with the first game...

Looking forward to it! 😁

Want to play the original Halo and all maps of the day? As luck would have it, you can...
This is an old standalone mod game recently updated last year
