They have no idea nor care that their phone is 64Bit either, but it is. It's a poor argument IMO because I couldn't give a damn what light users think or do. If the most expensive smartphone on the market is dumbed down and aimed at technophobes then I should probably think about getting something else.

Regarding the 6S+ possibly having more RAM than the 4.7" version then the short answer is that it needs it. The 6+ is massively underspecced when it comes to RAM whilst the 4.7" iPhone 6 just about gets away with it if you're a general user who doesn't care about multitasking.

No one asked if you cared, I was just stating fact.

I am a small person with small hands, but I have the money ready to buy a new iPhone and I also want to have the latest tech.

The 6 Plus is too big for my hands and my pockets, I just can't use it.

If Apple decides to favor the 6s Plus with the latest and greatest tech, I call for discrimination of small people. ;)

I do not think you have much to worry about and the same features will be on both new iPhones. 2gb of RAM will likely be on both. Let the smaller people relax as all will be just fine.

How elite of you, as Apple is building the device for these people and not for just for you.

Apple will not miss your money.

And I wont miss another under-specced, overpriced release either, or the bleating hanger-on's that don't know any better.

Works well then.

No 2GB, no buy. Not negotiable.

Everyone kinda got chippy and off-topic a bit, didn't we?

The OP's question wasn't whether the Plu(S) would get upgrades, but rather whether the (S) would get them as well.

And I think it's pretty clear from Apple's release history that the (S) version will be a significant internals upgrade, and I don't think the fact that there are now 2 flagship models will change this.

I give no regard to the thoughts of the ignorant masses.

If it doesn't have 2GB of RAM I won't buy it. Won't even consider it.

Exactly the same, apps and tabs refreshing is the only thing I hate about iOS and Apple too cheap to fix the issue. 2gb ram will do just fine and better optimising.

People are saying that both phones should have the same spec so as to not make the Plus version 'better'. However, they're missing the fact that currently the smaller phone is better. Give them both the same spec and the smaller phone will always perform better, so it's the Plus owners who miss out and end up with the inferior device. The larger non-native HD display is a lot more taxing to run than the 4.7" version and that's why the smaller iPhone 6 runs smoother, stutters less, reloads browser tabs & apps less readily and doesn't periodically freeze up.

A phone with a larger, higher resolution display needs a beefier spec in order to have similar performance to a phone with a smaller, lower resolution display.

Getting the plus so doesn't really matter. But it would be a mistake from Apple, and I don't see any reason why the should do it. If you upgrade something on a device for a new release, why wouldn't you on every model?

It needs a better graphics processor then (although ram would help) so give both 2GB of ram. Don't handicap the 6S on ram for the 6S+. I have never ever used a flagship iPhone with the poor performance of the iPhone 6. A premium iPhone should not stutter at all. If the 4.7 inch iPhone comes wiht 1 GB of ram, it will be VERY obvious that Apple is no longer being run to give users the best experience. It was already obvious with them giving the iPhone 6 (1gb of ram) and the iPad Air 1 (1 GB of ram), that the experience means very little to Apple these days.

Eh, I had iPhone 5S and loved it, smoothest phone ever. Got 6 plus on launch day for that battery. But it lagged. Like hell. Got rid of it by NY, and went back to 5S. Now I picked up a normal 6 and wow, it's actually same as 5S, runs smoothly and nothing like 6 plus! So as far as I'm concerned they can keep the smaller iPhone with 1gb of RAM, unless they bump it to a FullHD screen, of course...

You've got to be kidding. Perhaps under 8.4 Apple has managed to optimise things, but honestly the 6 under 8.0, 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 all stutter on the iPhone 6, and it doesn't happen on the iPad Air 2 with 2GB of ram.

1GB of ram in 2015 is NOT good enough AT all.

Not sure if 2GB would excite people enough to make them want to upgrade, but I will say I absolutely will not consider any iPhone's with 1GB of RAM.

I don't care about Tim Cook's bonus enough to get an under-specced device.
Well, neither would the typical increases in CPU and GPU power, but they happen with essentially every release anyway.

My decision between regular or plus will be EXTREMELY easy if they start a trend with the regular sized iPhone having inferior specs.

I already am pretty decided on getting a plus next time around (I'm on 2 year contract though) and if they do this, the decision will be set in stone.

I have no problem with the Plus model having more RAM but the non Plus model has to have enough RAM.

As far as the camera goes. I feel we are past due for a MP upgrade. With some of the screens Apple is pushing on their Macs they should have cameras that can utilize them.

Indeed. For all I care, the Plus can get even 3 gigs as long as I get at least 2 for the smaller one. Based on my current iPhone 6 that 1 gig just isn't enough. I'm sick and tired of browser tabs reloading and losing my reading position if I do pretty much anything else while reading an article.

Males, how do you carry a 6 plus? Do you wear baggy pants? A holster? Stick it in your backpack which you carry at all times? Seriously do not understand how guys can carry this thing around. Girls, I just assume that they stick in their purse.

I'd bet that both will have 2 GB. The Plus especially needs it. Even just playing with one at the Apple Store, tabs were reloading a lot, and there were freezes/stuttering when pushing the home button.

I don't see this happening, but maybe Apple will give the 6s+ the A9X processor and 2 GB of RAM and keep the 6s with the A9 and 2 GB of RAM.
