People loved apple because of how fast and snappy iOS was, so not having 2gb ram on the next iPhones will be a huge disappointment, androids out there with 3gb ram and apple still using 1gb? Cmon its just not acceptable imo...

The recently released Samsung Note 5 has 4GB of RAM...

I have heard a lot talk about the 7000 series aluminium - does anyone know what the heat treat is? Typically 7000 series is T6, does anyone know that the iPhone 6 6063 heat treatment is in comparison?
Typically the higher the "T" number, the stronger the material is - at least in aluminium

Well the thing is iOS has never needed that much RAM, but 1GB is choking the system. It's not just limited to the 6 Plus either, I have encountered reloading problems since the 5s, but the 6 Plus made it worse. I think part of it is that fact that the GPU is taking more memory away from the system for VRAM then before because it's caching a lot more into RAM due to the downsampling. Plus, 64-bit instructions always take more resources then 32-bit. This is how the iPhone 5 was able to do very well with only 1GB, even with iOS 8.

I'm 99% positive Apple is going to repackage the A8X in the Air 2 into the A9 meaning there will be huge performance gains and, yes, 2GB of RAM. If the 6s and 6s Plus don't both have 2GB, it'll be the disappointment of the year.

based on Apple's history, both phones will get those features. Apple doesn't usually separate features out like that.

Get the 6+ with the 2GB Ram. If the size of a bigger phone is an inconvenience, you can exchange down to the 6S and reap the consequences of a 1GB RAM iPhone.
Unless both phones have 2 GB of RAM, or perhaps both have 1 GB of RAM, or both have some other amount of RAM.

So the smaller phone will still perform better than the larger one. That's disappointing.
If you stick a larger, higher definition screen onto the same phone and especially if it has that scaling weirdness then it will perform worse. I thought Apple would have learned by now and as a 6+ owner I certainly have.

The 6S+ needs more RAM, a better GPU and a native screen resolution if it's to perform as well as the 6S.

They will both do well. Especially with the new A9 chip which will have greater performance and improved power efficiency at roughly the same size as the A8. Add 2 gigs of RAM and you've got two fast powerful and efficient gadgets.

Stop stalking me, Keith. :D
