What if, the iPhone6 stays at 4.0" with improvements on camera, RAM and processor  What if, Apple trolled everyone by releasing various fake leaks leading everyone to believe a bigger iPhone is coming. What ifs. . .

What will be your reaction? :D

You and the other .... people... will still buy it.

Many people I know back when there was still iPhone4 and iPhone4s told me the reason the iPhone was 4" is because Apple believe 4" is the right size to be able to control with one hand. Why would Apple be considering larger screen now? Do our hands get bigger?

This is a very good argument, back in 2012, Apple claimed that the 4" is the perfect size, remember this ad? iPhone 5- Thumb.

Apple has a reputation of doing things their own ways and not caving into demands. People want Apple to do a hybrid, Apple believe hybrids are "confusing". People want Apple to implement touchscreen on their Macs, Apple did not. People want a budget phone, Apple did not give us that.

So the question still remains whether Apple will cave into public demands and give us a 4.7" screen. Remember all these 4.7" are rumours until officially announced on stage.

If the next iPhone stays 4" it would have to truly bring a feature to the table that we haven;t even seen rumored yet. I wouldn't even have upgraded to the 5S if AT&T hadn't launched Next and allowed me an upgrade less than a year into my current contract. All I really got was the fingerprint scanner (and at this point I am glad I did)/

Oh who am I kidding....I would still buy it ;)

I would like a Galaxy Note size iPhone if possible. But honestly, the screen size is less important to me than the iOS inside of it and the company that supports it, which is the iPhone's real killer feature.

Call me an iSheep if you must. I've been to the dark side, I owned a GS4 for a day or so before returning it, I'll own the iPhone as long as Apple truly keeps trying to earn my money. It's not that I hate android, I own a Nexus 7 as a novelty to use on occasions, but iOS just suits me better.

I'd be disappointed. After several years away from iPhone, the ios 8 announcement has made me want to come back, but I probably wouldn't if they stayed with a 4" screen.

Like me. Sold my 5s in April and got a used g2 because of size. Now after seeing ios 8 I'm interested. Ios has a lot of android like features so it the 6 is at lest 4.7 I'm on it. If it's 4 no way.

4" is already not very friendly to one handed use, as I had to continuously stretch my thumb on my iPhone 5, so they might as well make it 4.3, 4.5 or 4.7/5 inch.

3.5 inch was the best sweet spot IMO. We still have an iPhone 4 around and it is 100% usable with one hand while the i5 wasn't and by extension neither have 5s/5c been.

People brainwashed by their marketing are the only ones thinking 4 inches was the new sweet magical spot. It was no longer the case. The sweet spot was 3.5, which was abandoned almost two years ago.

So yeah, bring on the bigger iPhone.

Who says a phone must be used with one hand? I just typed this using both hands without any problem.

Thank you! I don't get all this one-handed thing. I can't say I ever see iPhone users using one hand - it's always easier with two.

Wouldn't bother me one bit. I like the size, I also like the size pre iPhone 5.

I do understand others want something bigger, its just not for me.

I use one hand when I'm on transit. I have to hold on to the post on the skytrain but I want to read or text with my other :p

I'm still looking forward to the bigger screen, though, I think I can give it a shot. I'll be surprised if they don't come up with a bigger phone this year because I think they can see that there's demand. Screen size is increasingly important as people use their phones more for photos and videos.

If the screen size doesn't increase to at least 4.7 inches then it means I will stick with android which is a shame, the features of IOS8 actually make me want to go back to iOS for the first time in 3/4 years. Especially the systems ability to interact with the ipad and osx. The osx and iOS 8 updates have made me want to buy an iPad, MacBook Air 13 and a new iPhone. Now I'm just playing the waiting game for the product refreshes to see what they bring. It all depends on then iPhone screen size. I'm coming from the nexus which for me is an awesome screen size for a phone, and I previously had the note 3, so going to such a small screen like a 4 inch screen is just not possible for me now, I'm just too used to it.

By just changing the size of the screen it'll always be a 4.0 iPhone IMO. I mean, look at an iPhone 5, it had a bigger screen and that was about it. I wish Apple would stop focusing on the size of the screen and start to develop something new, like with the fingerprint sensor they introduced. That for example means a lot more to me than the size of the screen.

What will impact on apple be if next iPhones' screen is still just 4inches?

Everyone is so excited about the next 4.7 inch iPhone, but until apple announces it, they really are just rumors. Apple May very well release another iPhone at the exact same size.

But with everyone's expectations, what would the response be? How will people react at the keynote if apple announces the new iPhone 6 at 4 inches and it looks almost exactly the same with new features?

The chances of that happening are very slim...

If it's still 4" it will likely still sell well. However I think a larger screen will bring more sales and bring a lot of people from the competition.

I also think with iOS 8's even better integration with OSX (Yosemite) it will be the nudge some people needed to move away from windows machine. Albeit a lot of people will still use windows via boot camp on macs.

4 inches is definitely one hand friendly... What do you have baby hands?! Lol
