It is not inconceivable that someone is running something on their iPhone other than Apple's OS. Remember that there is a Linux distro for iPod. While I am not aware of any iPhone-suitable alternative OSes, it certainly can't be ruled out. It is certainly customary for a poll such as this to result in unforseen exceptions ("why didn't you list blah?"). If someone has indeed managed to mod their iPhone to this extent, then I'll ready my faux-surprise face. Indeed, I would be more surprised if there wasn't work being done by someone in this area.
Wow. I never knew that. Thanks. I'm gonna look into it.

Honestly - if I'm going to get iPhone, I'm not going to be stuck in the past. I want the latest and greatest clean creation Steve gives out. 1.1.3: in the words of David Bowie, rock on.

Unlocked/Jailbroken 1.1.3.

I am not programming proficient but I get a kick out of following detailed guides and successfully jailbreaking what others said couldnt be done.

The newest, cleanest version of the iPhone

Every update seems to help with my stability and I am still unsure on how to use un-clean versions of the iPhone

jailbroken / hardware unlocked OOB 1.1.2

living in an iphone-less country
forces one to work around things ;)

did not bother upgrading to 1.1.3 or
attempting a software unlock on it,
as the new features just arent worth it

our currently iphone policy is...

if it aint broke, dont fix it

Clean 1.1.2 OOTB here, got it a few days ago. I'll probably upgrade to clean 1.1.3 the next time I sync (tonight). Heading to the Apple store tomorrow for an iPhone class, hopefully I'll learn something new.

iPhone = pwnage :cool:
