slightly off topic, but how easy is it to revert back to normal after jailbreaking?
Very easy, Just do a total restore in itunes. But beware, your baseband will be upgraded as well and its not an easy downgrade to get back to a jailbroken state!!!!!

I went for "None of the above", as 'running' implies that it works...
My WiFi stopped working the first time I ran anySIM, and having no WiFi access makes it damn hard to fix anything :(
Then iBrickr stopped working... I now have an overpriced iTouch with no WiFi and extra icons... :(
Restore it thru itunes 7.6, you dont need wifi to do that right!!!??? Forget about the extra icons, you'll be able to get them later on when official SDK is released!! The main thing is to get your device up and running right??!!!

Was that from a poll of just your opinion?

I took a look at your 80 posts and it seems the vast majority of them are simply attacking people, that means to me that your opinion is not very significant.

And your 'opinion', which seems to be repetitive at best, is largely dismissed by others as the rantings of a parrot. "ibrick iwall ibrick iwall".

You need to get over the fact that some people jailbreak their phones and stop being so frigging evangelical for your lost cause. get a life.

Another attack, wow. I seen 13 years old that are more respectful than you at your age. You just attack people because you don't like something or another, we all don't think like you thanks God.

So anyone of a different opinion simply gets shot by you?

Grow up son, others are allowed to have an opinion that defers from yours *******.

"ibrick iwall ibrick iwall" - see your 13 years old comment pls. thanks God.

and I apologize to the other forum members having to read this altercation. I am done.

Did the jailbreak think on 1.1.2 and loved it. Tried after I installed 1.1.3 and failed twice. Just staying with a stock 1.1.3 and waiting to see what SDK will offer.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A93 Safari/419.3)

I have bought 2 iPhone since August. First one (4GB) I used iBrickr 1.1.1 cool..I sold it to a friend who updated to 1.1.2. I presently own a (8GB) with 1.1.3 I am happy with it today, but will wait and see what SDK's are. I really want a "LockBox" feature to securely hold my passwords.

1.1.3 Clean, here's why...

I have heard waaayyyy to many horror stories of people trying to get 1.1.3 jailbroken. So to prevent one of those horror stories from happening I simply went on with the iTunes update. Plus side is the future SDK, it will bring the apps we all crave for.

on my ipod touch i had it 1.1.1 jailbroken. then i upgraded it to 1.1.3. but i did not like that and tried gettin 1.1.1 back but then it made me restore my ipod and i cant get any of the jailbreak stuff back on it. anyone know how get jailbreak back onto it???

I was running 1.2.2 jailbroken, and then when the 1.1.3 came out, I updated and jailbroke but due to all the errors it had, I went back to 1.1.2 jailbroken.

I think this poll could accurately represent a very large sample of iPhone users.

Clean 1.1.3 here and desperately awaiting some quality native apps. They are almost here!

After months, I finally successfully Jailbroke the thing on 1.1.3. ...and then discovered that half the apps I installed wouldn't run, and the other half wouldn't run right. Nothing could write to disk. When the thing finally started crashing the next day, and totally locked up, unable to be reset or turned off, until the battery drained down and it died, it came back up in DFU-mode (is that "Dun F*cked Up"-mode or "Dead F*cking Unit") (sorry for the expletive, just wondering...).

All I really need is disk-access mode, to mount the device as a drive in Finder, but none of the apps I found on installer.app enabled that anyway. It looked like MobileFinder would, but then it didn't...

So I went clean 1.1.3, figuring cross my fingers that SDK-Clause will bring us something nice under the file tree.

If, with the SDK, Apple makes it clear that they won't allow certain apps, like MMS or IMing (because they're in bed with AT&T), or Disc-Access-Mode (because they think we can't handle such advanced computer skills as drag & drop), I'll sadly have to sell this thing and get a more capable device. :(

I really hope I don't have to do that.

1.1.3 Jailbroken. It is a week 25 phone, I use Vodafone and live in the UK. It will forever need be Jailbroken. I could now buy an O2 iPhone in the UK - but there's no point. I would still have to be Jailbroken to allow my Vodafone Spain, SFR, SwissCom and ATT (PrePay) SIMs to function when roaming abroad.

I just upgraded to a clean 1.1.3 from a jailbroken and nicely customized 1.02 (I was an early jailbreaker and a long time holdout on updates). Finally decided with the SDK coming shortly to throw my custom look and apps under the bus and give it a try, thinking I might jailbreak it again. Simply plugged it in and hit upgrade and it working beautifully. I only had to pop my favorite ringtone into Garageband and save it to the phone. All my settings, email accounts, pictures, etc. were still there (unlike the first two updates I did).

Honestly, my phone runs faster, battery lasts longer, and I now have quite a few features that I didn't have before. I do miss my games and puzzles, but I figure they will be back within a month or so. Very much looking forward to seeing what the next year of development brings to the worlds best phone!
:)

That's an assumption I'm not willing to make... I keep seeing people saying this w/ nothing other than assumptions to back it up. Still happily running a jailbroken 1.1.2 OTB.

I'm with you on this matter. If anything, the SDK is only going to bring onboard the usual suspects selling apps that can be written in a weekend for $20 - 30+++. And also, I greatly prefer being able to use installer.app instead of ***** around with iTunes just to put apps on my phone. Very rarely does the official path actually prove to be the most versatile one, particular with a control freak like Apple controlling what you can and can't do. I think those who are expecting the SDK to allow you to do everything under the sun on the device without limitation have rocks in their heads :)

And just to qualify all this - my jailbroken 1.1.2 has just the same if not better stability and battery life than my coworker's clean 1.1.3. The only difference between he and I is that my rectal cavity is intact and without the bleeding, cuts and abrasions caused by bending over to receive a mandatory 18 months of frisking from Apple and O2.
