Grilled a spatchcocked Hmong Chicken yesterday. The pepper sauce is the star of this recipe:
1 cup cilantro, chopped
Juice from 1.5 limes (2 Tbs)
2 Tbs fish sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 Fresno chile, finely minced (market only had ripe jalapenos, so I used that)
This sauce is a keeper!

That looks not just divine, but absolutely delicious.

I just made a black bean dip and it turned out great. Black beans, onions, cumin, salt, cilantro, lime juice, jalapeños, garlic. I had leftover black beans from a different recipe and wasn't sure what to do with them, but this was proof that my new blender is not just for smoothies and açai bowls (though I've been having a lot of fun making those too).
Sounds great, using leftovers is always a must if possible and a blender for bean dip, nice. My blender will not do that so I use my food processor which is a Cuisinart type.

Whoops, this is about dinner and not my opinions and gear, all though this forum seems more forgiving and less moderated than some.

Did you have it? What is the report? I would try it of course as it looks .... nice.
So, Toast Hawaii seems to be a German invention. It consists of American-style toast, cooked ham, a slice of pineapple, and a slice of Gouda cheese. The whole thing is baked in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 10 minutes. Usually, a cherry is added on top, but we tend to eat it as is, or with cranberry sauce.

Doner kebab plate (Dönerteller). It originally comes from Türkiye 🇹🇷, but has been further developed here in Germany. Doner (Döner) is usually served in flatbread without fries.

The most popular fast food in Germany!

A salad.

I had a dinner meeting at a pizza place, and this was pretty much the only dairy free option. 😭 Although at least they had the option, which was not the impression I got from the website...

I've honestly had more modertion of my posts here than all other fiorums I've been on combined.

Years back (ca. 1990),, my mother got a food processor that she possibly never used. But when I started cooking, I found it a great tool, which I liked better than her blender (which was made in a better time, when mass market blenders actually had usable power). I someimes thought a food processor was perhaps the closest thing to a single kitchen appliance that could handle a range of uses: mixing, chopping, kneading, and pureeing.

In the series "Stadt Land Kunst"—or, in French, "Invitation au voyage"—on the channel Arte, there is a special segment titled "A Matter of Taste." In it, a traditional Spanish dish was featured. 🇪🇸 It is called Toni's Sardine and Tomato Sandwich.

Ingredients:
- Fresh sardines
- Fresh tomatoes
- Garlic
- Bread rolls
- Olive oil
- A grill

The sardines, tomatoes, and garlic are grilled. The tomatoes and garlic should be grilled until it is slightly charred.

Hollow out the bread roll, mix the ingredients together, and place them inside the roll. Finally, drizzle with olive oil. Bon appétit!

With Tabasco!
There are other brands of hot sauce, which I buy. In fact, I buy other brands more often, due to pricing. But I have real sentiment for Tabasco. It was a staple item in my mother's spice cabinet. I don't think she used it that much, but that was the only brand of hot sauce she bought.

And what are you paying for it?

2.83$? Which equals 2.44€ here. If really cost you that much.

I'm cheap, so even with something like hot sauce, I look for the most for my dollar. For a given price, one might get three times as much hot sauce from a competitor than Tabasco.

Then there are times when I have to buy cheap as possible if I'm going to stay within my strict grocery budget for the month.

But, of course, prices vary. Sometimes, with a good sale/digital coupon, Tabasco is cheap enough that I splurge.

Greatly enjoyed an utterly delicious lamb tagine - a late lunch - at an excellent Moroccan restaurant with an academic colleague who had recommended it strongly for quite some time.

As the restaurant does not serve alcohol, he headed to the pub downstairs and returned bearing two large glasses of lager from the excellent German Weihenstephaner brewery. Perfect.

Double-wrapped Tacos. These were mentioned in the latest Cooks Illustrated, where refried beans are spread onto a flour tortilla, which is then wrapped around a filled, crispy taco shell, and consumed. I know I've seen something similar on fast food menus, but not sure what they're called.
CI suggested cracking the corn shell in half and laying it flat, making it easier to fill:

I made two that way, and filled the third one from the top, intact; sixes either way. They are filling, only needed three for a good lunch:

The Good: if the taco shell shatters, the flour tortilla and "bean glue" keep it all intact; very easy and neat to eat.

The Bad: even in the short time it took to assemble these three, the refried beans starts softening the taco shell, less crunch, and by the time I bit into the last taco there was no crunch whatsoever. That was disappointing... a nice variation, but won't be making tacos this way all the time. TFL.

Last nigth's attempt at cooking--such as it was--was chickpeas cooked with some onion and a red pepper I needed to use up. This was seasoned with some ginger root and curry powder.
