So, the origin scan was day before yesterday, on the 10th.

But the laptop is still in Shanghai! How long will it be there for? I mean, it's been 48 hours! :?

Same, our laptops are delivery buddies and shared the same trip to europe it seems. To France in my case not the UK though

Did you receive yours today? Mine has been out for delivery since midday but hasn't shown up. 🤬

In 24hrs it travelled from Amsterdam - Leipzig - Luton - Heathrow - Gatwick ... yet I live 20 mins up the road and it doesn't make it that far.

No doubt it must go by your house 4 or 5 times to various substations before it get's dropped off on your doorstep. At least that is what I usually see with FEDEX or UPS deliveries here in the US.

Not sure how the DHL network rolls in this part of the UK. Keep telling myself this is just a first world problem and tomorrow is another day 😳

That's nice! Congrats, and enjoy! No issues with the laptop, right?

Ghosting or speaker?

Mine arrived too but might be going back. I can't accept ghosting because of slow screen response time at the price I paid for this machine.
Could u please post your panel version? Instructions are in my sig. Thanks!
And when you say ghosting, do you mean white on black text streaks like wet paint when smooth scrolling, say, on this forum?

My screen is perfect. No ghosting at all.
Can you please post your manufacture date (from coconutBattery app) and the panel version (instructions in my sig? Thanks!

Here you go!

LP160WT1-SJA2

MFG date is 11/25/2019 as per coconutBattery app.

Yes, that's what I mean by ghosting. As a workaround I am using light mode right now.

Thanks much kssharma. Seems like so far SJA4 seems to be free of this problem (or much less). I am going to keep exchanging/returning+rebuying until I end up with a "streak-free" macbook.

Yeah, good luck!

Fortunately, I am not tied up with the Mac ecosystem and this is my first MacBook (I do have a Thinkpad Hackintosh). So I am open for other options as well. Actually have a P53 in same config on order but Lenovo keep delaying the order.

My other machine (daily driver) is a pretty loaded Surface Book 2 for work so yeah... I could go with a Win laptop too, but dont want to. I like Mac as my personal/learning machine because that way I stay in touch with a wider set of ecosystems and toolsets. I also love the Apple hardware and macOS esthetics in general (this is my 2nd macbookpro in 5 years).

@sat24

Manufacture date 2019-11-25
Revision LP160WT1-SJA3

No issues with the display. No smearing and it looks perfect.

Interestingly the design capacity is at 97.4%...
Thanks... good to know you dont have the issue!

re: design capacity - this goes up (at least to 99%+) after a few days and battery cycles.
