Muse/Avenged Sevenfold/My Chemical Romance/Escape The Fate/Hollywood Undead.

That's my 'Top 5,' but there are many others that I adore.

Older Bands:
Something Corporate
Jack's Mannequin
Say Anything
Original Taking Back Sunday (Circa 2000)
Jimmy Eat World

Newer Bands:
A Rocket To The Moon
Asking Alexandria
The Number Twelve Looks Like You
Fear Before The March of Flames
Every Avenue

There's a lot more, but that's a fair assortment of the different genres i listen to. haha =D

older bands are the bands who have been around a lot longer than the newer bands (i put jack's mannequin up there because andrew mcmahon has been around forever.)

Haha, that even made ME feel old! ;)

These are my favorites in different categories...

Timeless: The Beatles. I saw Paul McCartney this year and it was amazing!

Metal: Pantera and Children of Bodom

Ska: Streetlight Manifesto and Bomb The Music Industry! (BTMI is free on their website)

Rock: Muse (although they're getting boring fast) and Brad Sucks (Also free on his website)

Techno: DJ Tiesto and Basshunter

Punk: Dead Kennedys and Gogol Bordello

Comical: Gunther (Seen him in concert even!) and The Lonely Island

New Wave: Oingo Boingo

80's Rock: AC/DC and The Rolling Stones

Not favorites but other bands I like: Mindless Self Indulgence, Five Iron Frenzy, Less than Jake, Suburban Legends, Reel Big Fish, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, MU330, Mustard Plug, Nine Inch Nails, The Planet Smashers, Ska-P, The Aquabats, Daft Punk, Guns and Roses... Probably a lot more.

Can you tell I like Ska? ;)

Some Yanni, some Jean Michel Jarre, and a whole lotta Trance. A&B in particular.

I have JMJ's Equinoxe and Oxygene 7-13; love 'em. Jarre is just as important to the development of electronic music as Kraftwerk is, IMO. I strongly recommend you check out Synergy aka Larry Fast (one of JMJ's contemporaries); Cords and Games are two good Synergy albums, and there is a Synergy best-of compilation on CD if i'm not mistaken.

Yes to Trance! Paul van Dyk, BT, Guardians of the Earth, the list goes on...
A&B-- is that Above and Beyond? If so, I love their treatment of Madonna's "What It Feels Like For A Girl"; their radio edit was used for the music video instead of the album/CD version.

Daft Punk
Cobra Starship
Matt and Kim
Kid Cudi
Phoenix
Ladyhawke
Linkin Park
Breaking Benjamin
Justice

Just to name a few...

I'm really on this Indie Hipster phase right now.

Streetlight Manifesto, Blink-182, Bad Religion, Enter Shikari, The Gaslight Anthem, Senses Fail, Between the buried and me, Protest the Hero are just some of my favorite bands.

Jimmy Eat World, Porcupine Tree and Death Cab for Cutie are my top three at the moment (in that order)

Erm...

[1] Daft Punk is one of the biggest dance acts of the moment.
[2] Linkin Park is one of the biggest-and-scraped-together-by-a-manager metal bands of the last couple of years.
[3] Lady Gaga is one of the most commercial pop stars of the moment.
[4] Coldplay is both the biggest and the single most overrated stadium soft rock band of the decade.

Are you really calling those bands/acts indie?

I've been listening to the Beatles a lot lately. Pink Floyd, too.

Usually I listen to harder rock like Alice in Chains, Sevendust, Back Stone Cherry, Dream Theater.

I listen to a lot of 80s rock mostly, but my top bands are probably;
Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Metallica, Skidrow, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest and Dio.
I went to a Billy Talent concert with my friends and I have a few of their songs on my iPod now.

I think I've found some hipsters:p
Seriously though, those are about as far from indie as you can get, with maybe the exception of Phoenix, who I don't know if you can still call indie.
