Real Genius? Great flick.

My iPod (see sig) is named Luigi. My Powerbook is named Mario and my desktop PC is Bowser. My fiancé's laptop is Peach.

And, yes, my router is named "Mushroom Kingdom."

The mini that I plan on ordering in a couple of months will be named "Baby Mario."

I know. I'm a dork. Whatever.

Wireless network: The Shire (yeah, you know where this is going...)
Airport Extreme: Frodo
Airport Express: Sam
PowerBook: Legolas
Wifie's iBook: Arwen
and finally, my iPod: Gimli

so, there, you're not alone

That is *outstanding.* Almost better than my Mario theme!

so, there, you're not alone
The machines at work are named after Disney characters.

I have a theme

Wireless network - Snow White
Ipod - Aladdin
iBook - Buzz Lightyear
Bluetooth mouse - Mickey
Bluetooth keyboard - Minnie

Is it just me, or is spelling on this thread unusually bad?

Thanks for pointing that out for me. I don't bother using the spellcheck on the schools computers as they reset to the default settings every time a new user logins in.

Wowbagger

One of my favorite minor characters from the book I happened to be reading at the time.

Is that the Infinitely Prolonged? I tend to listen to H2G2 series read by Douglas Adams on my ipod, using the Altec Inmotion to fall asleep at night.

My 30gb 3 Gen is called My Precioussssss (can't remember the number of s's)

When I was in college, we carried our data around on things called floppy disks. I had a pink one that was called "Sean's Big Pink Disk" Think of any reference you want, but I didn't know about The Band then.

Sean

All of my machines follow an "-ic" naming scheme... their names all end in "ic". Here's the list:

Synthetic - Sony 3.4 GHz desktop PC
Logic - Sony 3.0 GHz desktop PC/server
Nucleic - Sony 2.2 GHz notebook
Atomic - Sony 850 MHz notebook

and the recent additions:

Xenophobic - 1.42 GHz Mac mini
Microscopic - 60 GB iPod Photo

Old machine names included "Mnemonic", "Eidetic", and "Ecliptic".

What's in a name...

My newly acquired iPod Mini is now named :: triffid ::
My PC is called Gonk III (it's had a few re-incarnations) :)

just got my iPod photo 40 Gb so I named it "StuPod", doesnt really fit my whole naming scheme but I liked it.

PC hub: Caesar
Wireless Network: SkyNet (what else!?! )
iBook: my name (though I want to change it sometime)

I call my 4th gen iPod Megatron. Not original, but I can't recall the clever names I gave to my other 3G iPods that wound up being sent back to Apple. Megatron's been the healthiest so far.
