I named my 15-inch i7 MBP: Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.

I call him Max for short. :p

I name my computers and devices with a planet name from the Star Wars universe, that's my nomenclature.
My current MacBook Pro is named Felucia, and past computers have had the names Bakura, Endor, Bespin and Alderaan (RIP)

sorlag.

Old laptop was anarki; other devices I have are slash, ranger, orbb, bones, tankjr, angel, phobos, sarge, major, uriel.

Yep, all quake 3 warriors :)

I'm another Greek/Norse/Roman god name user for my gear...

I had originally started out naming my computers after computers in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, but when you get limited to a certain number of characters, it starts getting hard to name them properly.

Past PC's:

Arkleseizure (not a computer, but a deity).
Deep Thought (cliched)

Mjollinar (two computers named like this, they were essentially the same PC)
Heimdall
Thor

Current Mac's:
Hyperion - 27" i7 iMac
Helius - late 2008 uniMBP 2.4Ghz 15"

I generally like to avoid the standardised Greek/Norse/Roman deities and typically look for more obscure names. Hyperion is considered to be the lord of light, and the titan of the east, son of Gaia & Uranus. He is mentioned rarely in most mythos pertaining to the Titan v Olympian battle/s.

Helius/Helios is the Sun in most Greeky Titanology.

It's only fitting that the MBP be named Helius and the 27" be Hyperion, as I consider the 15" the baby Mac in the family. All I need now is a Mac Pro named Theia ;)

What do you name your iPhone?

Not talking about a made up pet name you may give it, but the actual name you give it on iTunes.

I always name mine "Michael's iPhone."

When I had an iPod Touch, I named it MikePod.

I like to name my phones after various fictional characters. Don't know what I'm going to name the new iphone when I get it, but I might pick something out of Shakespeare. :)

Call me boring, but I just name it "iPhone".

It just looks simpler and cleaner when it comes up in iTunes, and it's the only one in the house.
