Hey so I was lucky enough to keep my unlimited data plan with my 6+.

My question is, how much data do you normally go through? I am a heavy user with my phone and I never realized until I checked that I have gone through 4.6 gigs of data and I'm not even half way through my cycle for the month.

Anyone use more? Or am I crazy?

Really? I mean what is considered "a lot?" I know friends of mine use less than 500 mb and think its insane how high mine is... do you have a comparison?

2.5 gigs...

I just make sure to wait till I'm home and connected to WiFi before I start downloading porn.

As a family we share 10 gigs. My wife and I used under 1 gig and my older son away at college used 5+ and my younger son uses 2-3 Gigs each month.

Between .5 gigs and 1.5 gigs, generally. (That's with 2 users & iPhones.) Most ever was 2.5 while moving and internet was disabled at home.

I use about 5 gigs a month. If I wasn't on Wi-Fi it would be closer to 15-20 gigs a month. Plus all the music streaming I use with Spotify not sure how many gigs I use streaming music

We have 3 lines - My husband, myself, and our 13 year old - all of us with iPhones. We use about 8-9 GB/month, but I'm on the road A LOT, so I stream data often.

My 13 year old...she is careless sometimes and disconnects from the wifi. For a different of like 1-2 GB, it's not that much, price-wise.

I average about 4-5GB a month. if I didn't have wifi at home or work, that would easily be pushing 20.

And I'm on At&t. Didn't mean to crash the Verizon party.

So...where's the bar?

I average about 7GB per month.

I'm grandfathered into an unlimited data plan, but that means I get throttled once I hit 5GB.

I average about 10-20gb a month, but I also pay for the tethering and tether on my laptop and/or iPad. I hope we don't get throttled like AT&T, .50up/.50down.

What is your real-world monthly data use?

I hear so much about older, grandfathered unlimited data plans (often throttled) that people are so desperate to keep. I was really hesitant to give up mine, too. After all - it's UNLIMITED!

But then I checked, and between two lines in my household I was averaging just under 5GB/month. Peak for 12 months was still under 7GB, and my lowest was just over 3gb.

I would think it would take a pretty serious change in usage habits to get my two-line household up to 10GB/month... but even if we did, this is still pretty low usage on the scale of things.

Curious: What is your real-world monthly data usage? And if it is really high, what application or service are you finding you use that accounts for it?

Around 1GB/mo.

I don't stream music. Simply browse the web alot (i.e. macrumors) and watch an occasional 1-min YouTube vid every now and then.

Cut out the streaming and everything drops down to what the carriers first thought of when they offered 'unlimited'.

I have unlimited data but usage has been pretty light this cycle as I've been around a lot of wifi. Usually average 7-9GBs
