The guide really isn't accurate. You have to go down 1.5 to 2 sizes. It showed a size six for me but I wear the silicone loops in size five and the braided loops in size four. I can highly recommend the solo loops though. Since their release I only wear those. And the braided ones are especially comfortable in hot weather.I thought that I read that the sizing guide isn’t 100% perfect… I may be wrong. However, if @sfrangu is going to be in-store to view the band selection, what harm is there for an Apple rep to help him/her find the correct size based on material?
Thank you for the friendly advice. We went today to the closest Apple store (still about 22 miles away) and spent almost an hour there (with my daughter), mostly for the bands. The measuring tool they have in the store works a bit different than the paper one we print but for me was spot on. For my daughter was a completely different size than the paper one showed and we used it the same way. I got to try on a few solo loops, braided and liquid silicone solo loop ones. I loved the feel of the braided compared to the silicone especially thinking of the sweat caught underneath it. I am usually wearing Nike sport bands for this exact reason: to get good air flow under the watch band. So, the braided one felt like a dream and, contrary to some reviews read online, the Apple reps showed us their own braided solo bands and they said they don’t get stretched even with heavy wearing a long time. Which is one more pro to get the braided red with the watch and get an extra regular sport band in another color. The only concern would be getting it wet them having to take it off the watch until it’s dry and wear a different band.Wow… way to be helpful. I don’t now what their reason is for buying the AW. When someone asks for advice, you really shouldn’t respond with sarcasm.
At least not everyone will have RED. If I can use sport fluorescent black nike band from AW4, it will look great with red watches. Or blue band with red watches can be cool as wellI almost did, but I wish it were a deeper red...
Hello Apple Watch colorists: Please add a smidge more black to that red.
I’m really glad that you and your daughter was able to find what works best for each of you. 😁 My order doesn’t arrive until 11/2-9, and I’m really looking forward to delivery. I have several bands for my 44mm, so I’ll be able to swap out occasionally. If you remember the sizing for the different band materials, Amazon has some really good replacement bands although I would be really selective and read the reviews if your decide that you want slightly cheaper options from Apple‘s offerings.Thank you for the friendly advice. Thank you for your advice as well, @davidako. Assumptions, assumptionsmy background in the health field helps me making decisions related to the use of the Apple watch. Which, btw, is a great tool, besides an accessory, fashionable or just tech.
Was there are a reason for that?Ordered the most basic starlight watch with the most basic starlight band.
I didn’t order this combo but now I’m thinking I kinda like it. I wound up with abyss blue braided loop which is way too similar to the blue braided loop I bought last year. What do people think of this?![]()
This will be my first one (that I keep) Rob.You are going to love the Apple Watch. It is my favorite Apple device.
Glad I read your comment.I really like the feel of the braided loop. It is very comfortable. The downside is it stretches out. I normally wear a 6 in s Solo loop. My braided loop from last year is a size 4. I just tried it on and it is loose on my wrist. I wouldn't trust it to give me accurate readings. I won't be getting the braided loop again, especially at $100 dollars.
Stretching is not covered under the warranty.Glad I read your comment.
I’ve ordered the Starlight case, with Starlight sport band. I like the neutral colours (I’m very minimalist.)
However, I think the red braided solo loop looks really nice with the Starlight case. My intention was to try them on for size, when I collect my watch on Friday, and buy one (I have no idea what size band I am, as I’m completely new to the Apple Watch.)
However, after reading your comment, I don’t know if I’ll bother.
Does warranty cover stretching?
So I you were to buy another one, would you get it really tight?Stretching is not covered under the warranty.
I run a lot. In addition to staying fit, I like that I can use my watch most of the time for what I need (barring looking something up on the internet) instead pulling my phone out of my pocket every time. This will be my first one (that I keep) Rob.
What is it about the AW that makes it your favourite Apple device?
Are you heavily into fitness, or are there other features/uses of the device that makes you like it so much?
Really don’t know whether to reply withOk I won’t be offended. Do people hate this?
Thanks for the information, Rob.I run a lot. In addition to staying fit, I like that I can use my watch most of the time for what I need (barring looking something up on the internet) instead pulling my phone out of my pocket every time.
Just a few that I think make having the watch worthwhile...
1) Easily create calendar events using Siri on the watch
2) Check and create reminders
3) Make and receive phone calls
4) Monitor respiration, sleep, blood pressure, and many other health focused areas
5) Receive and respond to messages
6) With the cellular model, I don't need to carry my phone with me everywhere I go
7) Fall detection EMS alert
8) Driving turn by turn haptic alerts
9) Apply Pay
How about if it were to fray, I wonder?Stretching is not covered under the warranty.
