I think you will enjoy it; this is a movie made for slow - almost languid - watching, - it is sheer class - and the final ballroom scene is stunning.

Oh, and don't just take my word for it; Rotten Tomatoes gives it a score of 100%…..

You've convinced me. I bought it for $10 on iTunes and will try and watch it later today if I can. :)

It's THE classic Hong Kong fungi fu movie.

Possibly interesting note...Bruce Lee supposedly came up with idea for the "Kung Fu" TV series. He developed it for himself, but the network felt he was "too Asian" to play an Asian, so they gave the part to David Carradine...apparently not "too Asian" to play an Asian. Lee was so disappointed in this ridiculous casting, he went back to Hong Kong never to return to work in the US.

Shrink: I was still mulling and musing over The Leopard…….as my brain is a little sluggish today.

Kung Fu movies, well, they are not really my thing (although I did rather like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon)……now, however, Seven Samurai is a movie I must make time to watch…..

Interesting tidbit about Bruce Lee. I've never really seen the Kung Fu TV series before and I'm not a huge fan of David Carradine either, but that won't stop me from watching it ever.

In case you misunderstood, the movie I just bought on iTunes is The Leopard that SS was referring to earlier in the thread. Enter the Dragon was on the IFC channel this morning.

Dennis The Menace (1993)- Surprisingly good representation of the comic. I like Walter Matthau and Christopher Lloyd. Dennis does a number on the villain. :)

I assume you know that The Magnificent Seven was styled after SS? :) regarding Kung Fu, Ip Man was pretty good.

For father's day, I took my youngest to "How to Train Your Dragon 2". I still like the series, but there's an overall sadness to the whole bunch. I'm also somewhat amused by Vikings who speak like Scotts. "Merka, heck yeah!" Hey, if it's different, it must be close enough.

I'm looking forward to The Boxtrolls, though.

I love HTTYD and this one did not disappoint. It was very sad though :(

Just watched Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit last night with my kids. We all really enjoyed it. It somewhat reminded me of 24.

The Shining Spoiler

My father and I watched Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. Terrific Cinematography.

Even despite the alteration to the original story, the movie is terrific. The single most annoying change is bringing Dick Hallorann all the way up from Florida to the Overlook just to kill him off. I have no clue, unless it was to contain the length of the movie, why they replaced the furnace maintenance aspect of the story with the maze...

My family saw How to Train Your Dragon 2 on Friday night and really enjoyed it also. I think it's my favorite animated movie/series as the TV and DVD releases they have made are also very good. I think they do a good job of trying to balance the fantasy and reality aspects of it all, but I was saddened by the big character twist they made in this one. I think they could have pulled off a successful story without having to go there, but that's probably more me being selfish with how I would like for things to be. The choice they made definitely fits the tone and genre of the story and I completely understand it, but man... so sad. :(

I hope they continue to make more installments to the story.

My favorite animated series is "Avatar: The Last Airbender", but that made a terrible movie.

I also hope they continue, and expect this one will do well enough that they will.

Agreed. I really enjoyed Avatar: The Last Airbender on Nickelodeon. The movie totally sucked.
