The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears - if you're not a fan of Dario Argento or Sergio Martino's giallos, this Belgian psycho sexual, occasionally violent horror film probably won't be your cup of tea. Dan comes back from a business trip to discover his wife Edwige is missing. From there he discovers some bizarre truths about certain neighbors, the apartment building where they live and his wife. The husband and wife team behind this have their giallo visuals down pat and they recreate some of the most disturbing and potent moments from The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh, What Have You Done to Solange? and Opera, along with Croenberg's Videodrome Where the film fails is the repetitive use of following the femme fatale through various stages in her life (exactly like their first film Amer) and that snuffed the really perverse and creepy build the loose story was aiming for. That said, I am sure I will watch this again for certain visuals. I hope whatever the filmmakers do next won't follow the villainous character through various stages of their life. I understand the flashback to the inciting incident but this detracts from their work rather than adding something to it.

Thanks, very much appreciated! :D

re Bird..: Great movie, on par with Cat.. for me, probably the two I enjoyed most by Argento.

I know you have your difficulties with the Pusher trilogy, but oh, boy! Pusher II may very well be the best film I've seen in a very looong time. Such a griping gem! Sad but true. Best movie by NWR I've seen so far, although I still have PIII, Bleeder and Fear X in my backlog.

I really like Bird and Cat too (and the chemistry between the two male leads in Cat is terrific.)

I am not a NWR person as you know and two films were more than enough for me. Different strokes and that. But I appreciate there are films for everyone's taste. Glad you liked Pusher II so much. :)

One of my favourites. It's a laugh out load film.

I'm watching Space Cowboys.

Always a good comedy.

Looks like it's a Clint Eastwood evening on the TV. Watching Gran Torino. He makes the grumpy old man very believable.

I love anything Clint Eastwood does. That being said, I really enjoyed Gran Torino

There hasn't been a Clint Eastwood film I've seen that I didn't like. Gran Torino was a really good one too.

Goodfellas (meh) and Donnie Brasco (very good), back to back.

I love Goodfellas and Donnie Brasco. Two classic gangster films.

The Runaway bride. Why? Because my wife chose it:(

Not sure I'd give it 1/10. Basically they were just hoping to cash in on the success of Pretty Women some 10 years earlier.

Ha! Thanks for the reminder. A lot of Runaway Bride was filmed in my neighborhood, although I've yet to see the movie.

Alas, the art deco Nu-System Bakery is no more, RIP.

Looks like a nice place to live.

I'm sure it looks better in "Runaway Bride", now I'll have to watch the movie.
It was listed in Forbes' Hippest Places in the US, and you can't swing a cat without whacking at least 3 artists and an assortment of dog walkers, but it ultimately boils down to one's immediate neighbors. Nasty, horrible local mob quirky vs fluffy quirky.

For a slightly grittier vision of the neighborhood: John Water's "Pecker" with Ed Furlong & Christina Ricci.
