I am a bit surprised that 2061 was never made into a film/mini series.

7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958) - Mom and I went completely Mystery Science Theatre 3000 on this last night. Sometimes I wonder what is TCM thinking?
I tried to defend Ray Harryhausen's dino-dragon and his cyclops, but alas mom's tongue was too quick. The acting was on part with the Redwood Forest though. I still love the Golden Voyage of Sinbad (but that had good looking humans in it too - John Phillip Law and Caroline Munroe.)
Hey, it's old, tell your Mom to give it a break.![]()
LOL. Well, it's not that old.It was hilarious to hear those kinds of snipes from her.
I thought that was an outstanding movie as a kid and for special effects, it was state of the art.![]()

Big Trouble in Little China - Now this film "really pisses me off to no end..." Oh, Lo Pan. You who remain my favorite villain. Words cannot express how bummed I am not to possess eyes, the color of which is "like creamy jade."
I still love the movie decades on. No matter how many times I've seen it, it's just so much fun. Chinese mythology / magic / demons / ghosts are the business (I still do not know much, but I love how deeply detailed Lo Pan's history is.) Watching this again after five months of almost nothing but Shaw Brothers and Martial arts movies makes me appreciate it even more. This would make a great triple feature with the insane and WTH funny latter day Shaws The Enchantress and The Weird Man.
And Kurt Russell making fun of John Wayne is priceless. Priceless like his other two 1980s collaborations with John Carpenter (Escape from New York and The Thing.)
I am so glad this film found it's fan base and cult love. It deserves it and then some.
Yeah that movie was a pleasant surprise to me as well. I wasn't expecting much and the plot turns were surprising enough - at least for me. I thought I had it figured out a couple of times, only be wrong.Maleficent. Little better than I expected. Was sure it was going to be really cheesy, but ended up being okay. FX was decent and enjoyed the story line.
Who is that (above)? The fighting skeletons were pretty good.
The lady in question is Caroline Munroe; Hammer Glamour at it's finest. She was in Golden Voyage of Sinbad. Link to photo with her and Mr. John Phillip Law (R.I.P.)

I only recently "understood" The Princess Bride.Adorable. Easy to see why it is so loved. Had I known it was a satire earlier, well, I would have been on board many moons prior.

An astronaut crew of 4 men and one woman on their way to the Moon, are unexpectedly propelled by gravitational forces and end up on Mars instead.
