Suicide Squad was great! The reviews are ********. Go see it for Margot Robbie at least.

but actually my secret favorite was Cara Delevingne as the Enchantress. I think I'm into witches now.

Locked and loaded in the queue for tonight:

Looks like they've done a killer job in mixing CGI and stop-motion animation, primarily used for flashbacks. But so far, the reviews have been phenomenal.

Nah, just is it worth me spending my hard earned cash?
I wasn't impressed with Star Trek. I'm hoping Suicide Squad is brilliant.
I actually enjoyed it. It's the not best...but it was entertaining. Harleen was great...humorous....
I'm trying HARD NOTto spoil it....but when it comes to joker............mildly disappointing....i guess it was mainly focused on the main cast. Joker did good job in performance. (that's all i'm gonna say..unless you want more)

7.5/10
I came in with lower expectation..and it worked...for me.
Action wise was great....could have been more.

Treat this movie like Marvel movie...as in....wait till post credit....i seen people leave right after.
The story wise needed some improvement.
At the end of the day...is it worth spending money? Yes...for morning show discount...like 7.50 usd..to 8 bucks.

Edited: (add) I also want to say Will Smith actually did good performance in movie unlike the movie EARTH (which i personally didn't like).

Holy crap, almost the exact same thing I told my co-workers this morning. For me, it was the best DC comics movie I have seen, but I am not high on DC comic movies in the first place.

Spoilers below for those who have seen it.

Okay, my issues. One, Joker wasn;t really needed in this movie, it was almost like DC threw him in to have a "big name" villain in it. Although, Leto played a really good joker. Absolute nut-ball that was completely head over heels for Harley.

My second and this is minor, but when at the end going after enchantress, why did any of the force recon guys hand over their m16s and all ammo to deadshot? I mean, he proved he was better than any of them could ever hope to be, so why head into fight the big baddie at a disadvantage?
I would have told him to carry a friggen mini-gun

I enjoyed...unlike certain people from some weird websites with bad ratings. I'm just calling it how it is. I'm glad you enjoyed. It was good, but I found some minor lackings...that's all.

Just finished The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015)
In the early 1960s, CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB operative Illya Kuryakin participate in a joint mission against a mysterious criminal organization, which is working to proliferate nuclear weapons.

Suicide Squad - at least it was free and I saw it with a friend. Liked seeing Batfleck again, but kind of bad when Scott Eastwood's 2nd in command spec ops soldier (yes, the son of that Eastwood) under Rick Flagg was more interesting to me than anyone else. He should have been Rick Flagg imo. The stakes just weren't there and most of the characters are given very small roles. While I don't mind Will Smith being Will Smith, Deadshot was nowhere near as edgy (actually none of them were) as the marketing promises. That's the problem. By giving them more humanity, you strip these characters of their badness. I get what Ayer was trying to do, but it just didn't work.

/rant on

Studios please leave your directors alone. You can make villains sympathetic without toning down their badness. I don't know why modern Hollywood seems to get this and naturally strong women -without calling your attention to them being women- so damn wrong.

rant off/

Logs off to watch more Ti Lung.

The worst was when they took a scene where the good/bad guy kills a bounty hunter who just says he would enjoy killing him and reedited a scene to make the other guy shoot first over beers. Damn you Lucas! ;)

Forgettable, when... I forgot ;)

Lots of Ti Lung and looks like the Venoms mob's awesome Magnificent Ruffians at least 2x this coming week. In the name of research. :) Of course, I want to go watch Chan Wai Man in the midst of all that...

My cinematic habits are agile and noble again. "Whew!" I've already forgotten most of Suicide Squad too.

Just finished watching Panic Room (2002) with Jodi Foster.
A divorced woman and her diabetic daughter take refuge in their newly-purchased house's safe room, when three men break-in, searching for a missing fortune.

I thought it was a very good thriller/drama, though somewhat predictable throughout.

I've always liked Jodi Foster and a couple of months ago I listened to a podcast with her and it was very good and I really enjoyed listening to her. Check it out here.

Yes it was predictable, but watchable.
I agree Jodi Foster is a good actress. But like most females the roles sort of dry up once you hit the wrong side of 35. Shame really.

A Bigger Splash (2015). Inspired by all time classic La Piscine (1969) with Alain Delon and Romy Schneider.
(Not finished watching yet).

Update:

In a nutshell, it was an awful movie in my opinion.

Super 8.
image.png

In 1979 Ohio, several youngsters (Elle Fanning, Joel Courtney, Gabriel Basso) are making a zombie movie with a Super-8 camera. In the midst of filming, the friends witness a horrifying train derailment and are lucky to escape with their lives. They soon discover that the catastrophe was no accident, as a series of unexplained events and disappearances soon follows. Deputy Jackson Lamb (Kyle Chandler), the father of one of the kids, searches for the terrifying truth behind the crash.
