all but the Thor one look good to me.

Also, just got an email about Apple TV and watching the newest Planet of the Apes... why? I don't mean to be condescending, but seriously, why? Planet of the Apes ...why?
I can't fathom the remakes or people watching them. I've seen all the originals and I didn't find them that engrossing back in the day. i know, different strokes for different folks but these films, and other remakes, just confound me.

I thought the premise and story telling of the 1968 original was excellent. The 2001 remake of the original was decent but did not surpass the original. The rest of the long list of Apes movies are worthless from my perspective.

For me, the only Planet of the Apes film I still love is the original from 1968. Though I find Beneath the Planet of the Apes hilarious (especially the creepy mutants who worship ...well...I won't spoil it).

Personally, the 2001 remake disappointed me (even with Rick Baker doing the more realistic Ape makeups for some characters). As far as the recent ones, I politely pass. I do not need to know where and how the evolution swap took place. It kind of ruins the Twilight Zone-like stinger of the original. There are some stories that do not need to be told (I find this an unfortunate trend with prequels lately).

In honor of my son's love of dinosaurs, we watched

I thought JPIII was the worst, and then they made World. Poor Opie's daughter can't act her way... well... anywhere. Is she stupid? Is she evil? Who knows? Who cares?

We cheered all the deaths in JPIII. Good times.

Finally, it doesn't do any good to sing "Billy. Billy don't you lose my number" to teenagers. Fact.

Alien all of them :p Building up to Alien Covenant. The original theatrical Alien is absolutely one of the very best SciFi films ever produced. The tension and fear is absolutely palpable. Ridley Scott at his absolute best. The intensity of this film remains, which speaks volumes...

Personal favourites are Alien & Alien 3, former needs no words, latter Fox should have left David Fincher to work his craft instead of just chasing the $$$

Still enjoyable today, just need to understand the period and context, great fun totally not serious...

Our little G is an Anime fanatic, one of her favorites is Black Butler! For one night only, there was a US release of the new movie, and we scored tickets - she was floored! We went "out for dinner", but right next to the theater, then sprung it on her

The theater was pretty much packed, and a surprising range of demographics, pretty amazing, everyone had blast, fun seeing a whole theater of people who knew every character, every plot point of a Japanese animated series (here in the US).

My daughter was a big Anime and manga fan too. I remember watching every episode of d.gray man with her. I'm sure she'd have enjoyed that night to.
