Does there have to be a reason? Adam Sandler's acting and film quality took a huge dip into the outhouse a long time ago. Netflix says his movies are some of the highest watched on their platform. This isn't me bashing people who like dumb movies (I like some myself), but people want some entertainment at times and not a serious, to the point, art house film.
Depending on the viewer and their ability to suspend disbelief or logic, YES there may need to be a why! :D:p
With sci-fi I’m open to unexplained things, but in this case, they went to a parallel universe were all indications were that biology and physics were basically the same. So an animated detached arm with knowledge to share and a desire to write a message for the benefit of the crew was hard to suspend. ;)

I suppose so. Then again, Inception was garbage and the masses loved it. Though that's my personal opinion.

Well I loved Inception, however I acknowledge enjoyment is based on the viewer accepting the premise without any kind of a functional explanation about how a dream architect can construct a dream level, and how multiple people share a dream space in someone else’s head, and finally how they could control random variables the person hosting the dream might introduce into their dream... besides that,:D:p

I am totally the target audience for this. Totally loved it. I grew up watching the TV show, and although only the names are the same, this was laugh out loud funny for me. My wife tolerated it. She was sad that Michael Pena is no Erik Estrada, and I was like "He's totally in there, although old and craggly" Apparently that wasn't the right thing to say.

Bright. Just a re-make of Alien Nation, but this time with Orcs and Elves. I'll watch anything with Noomi Rapace. In this case, it was slow moving, but at least decent to watch. 2 hours was a long time, though.

I thought so at first too...

I really enjoyed it until the very end. Will Smith's last line, "I need an aspirin..", wasn't clever or funny and I really felt it unnecessary.

I am hoping to get my tail in the seats this week for Black Panther. I enjoyed Chadwick in Captain America Civil War so I am sure this will be a great movie (and not just from the Marvel sense of things). All depends on how far ahead I get with this week's bits of real life.

Watched "Lazer Team" last night. The whole family enjoyed this funny little romp. This was no big budget film but it was a good and silly little movie by the Rooster Teeth people. Guess we'll make time for the sequel sometime soon.

Big Sick was a decent movie. I bought the combo pack for Dunkirk the day it became available. It's been sitting since. At least back a decade ago you had to worry about late fees and you'd watch everything, even if it was utter crap.

Bastille Day was a pretty good movie. I don't think it got much attention in the US, though.

The Incredibles

Solid superhero animation. The kids loved it and it managed to tire them. Score. Thanks to @D.T. for the recommendation. :)

some stupid super hero marvel thing.

i don't get why people like comic movies. i can only think of one that was to my liking.

and after they ruined batman the first time, and every other time afterwards, and then later on daredevil...

ugh. no.

Darkest Hour.

Having seem a few movies which depict the man, it was hard to resist seeing him portrayed by my favorite actor.

It was a good movie all around(but dare i say, not the best). I think, maybe, they focused on too narrow a time period. Gary Oldman did a really good job.
