Saw Black Panther on Sunday with the family and enjoyed it. I don't know about it being the best Marvel movie to date as I've heard some say, but I thought it was well done.

The Wandering Swordsman (1970) While lacking the romantic awwww of Have Sword Will Travel (1969), this does sport one of the longest mortally wounded - he's dead sequences ever in a Chang Cheh film. David Chiang plays another Robin Hoodesque pixie character who does his best to thwart the bad guys after he learns he's been bamboozled into working for them. Chiang and Lily Li are wonderful together. While I prefer Have Sword Will Travel this is a fun SB movie.

I will try to see Black Panther this week (attempted to yesterday and couldn't), so I may watch Captain America Civil War again in the next day or so for a reminder.

Agreed, both the wife and I really enjoyed the movie. To date though, the Winter Soldier is still my favorite, but this one is in the top five!

Bucky made an appearance in the after credit scene.

This connects back to an Avengers: Infinity War prelude comic, which depicts Shuri working to cure Bucky's Hydra brainwashing that turns him into a killing machine. It seems she's done a pretty good job, as Barnes shows back up in the Infinity War trailer fighting alongside Captain America and Co. As for the name, White Wolf is a Black Panther character that hasn't yet appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the comics, White Wolf was a white boy adopted by T'Chaka and raised in Wakanda and grew up to be a leader of the country's special forces. It's possible that the films will twist this character to be a third iteration of Bucky, who is now free of Hydra brainwashing.

Stan told us last year that he's interested in pursuing this Marvel character more—possibly even with his own standalone film. And with Chris Evans's contract coming to an end, maybe Bucky Barnes (or White Wolf) will be a good replacement for Captain America.

Oh yeah, we saw it. Very interesting to see him at the end and I had the same assessment of him running side by side in the Infinity War trailer. Especially after seeing him being "being worked on".

I am not very familiar with the Marvel Comic Book Universe, but from what I read, the nickname he was given was actually given to another character that we haven't seen yet, or might not see him period.

Just finished Marauders (2016) on Netflix and.. Yeah. I thought I might as well watch something before heading off to work, and without much research landed on this.

Bruce Willis is seriously phoning it in (possibly asleep for much of the film?), Christopher Meloni is ok (as opposed to great, which he can be) and the other guys didn't even really register that much. But there were guys. If memory serves there were only two female characters, which is a bummer, as the film could have maybe benefitted from more of them. Or maybe the two that were there could have had some meaningful pieces of script thrown their way. Who knows, I'm rambling.

There are bank heists with perps wearing cool military gear, some pretty brutal scenes of violence and somewhere in the stew of all of that and added testosterone there are even a few lines of script and dialogue. And rain. So much rain.

The plot was convoluted, and not in a good way, and the ending didn't really deliver much either. The more I think about the film the angrier I seem to get, so it may be best to stop now.

2/5, and that's being very generous. Damn it Bruce, get it together.

Oh I'm well aware that this type of schlock is just a quick and dirty paycheck, and I can obviously respect that in a way. That doesn't mean it doesn't still sting a bit.

Donnie Darko has been on my to watch list since 2008. I keep putting it off since it isn't my favorite genre (fantasy). I've been told it's like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang which I loved and is a hilarious romp. The Nice Guys was also great. 10 years on a list isn't too long...

Agreed. I saw Black Panther yesterday. While I enjoyed it, it didn't quite live up to its advance billing. The social-political overtones were a bit too strong, IMO, and I had a hard time with the film's main premise that
Wakanda's advanced technology is all due to Vibranium. I know that it's amazing stuff, but invisibility, miraculous cures, and the like strain credulity, even in a superhero movie.
This might account for something of a disconnect between what critics and audiences are saying online. I enjoyed the most recent Thor movie more because it was purely escapist and didn't take itself as seriously as Black Panther does.

Last Flag Flying - this was a huge disappointment. Probably my 2nd least favorite Linklater, down at the bottom with The Newton Boys. Laurence Fishburne was great, but Bryan Cranston was a hammy caricature.

The Lego Ninjago movie - its cute but not as exciting and fun as the prior Lego movies.

I would say its like Stranger Things with a dash of time travel.

Whoever told you that must've been _high_. :D

It was you! I kid! I was told that in 2010. I had added Donnie Darko to my watch-list a couple years prior because I'd overheard a conversation of how great it was. In any case, I was going to do an online rental until I thought about checking Prime or Netflix. It looks like it's available on Netflix. But it also looks the entire Godfather series and Goodfellas is on Netflix. It's difficult to decide whether I want to watch Donnie Darko or those.

I wish someone made an easier to browse site than Netflix.

I've never seen Stranger Things. I've read it's great, but I just haven't gotten around to it. Committing to a new series means a single 24 episode season can take a year for me to finish. There have been some exceptions, of course.

Some of the jokes went a little flat, but another solid performance. Fun for the whole family. We love the LEGO movies. Right up there with Aardman Entertainment.
