Is it similar to fast and furious? That's what I thought from the trailers.
Like DT said, it's not really like F&F. It's more a crime/fast cars/good soundtrack movie. I was leery of it at first, (thought it might be just another F&F ripoff, but it wasn't. It was better), but we really enjoyed it.

Not at all. There's like two great car chase/robbery scenes and then most of the film is the old cliche good guy who gets forced to do a bad thing but really wants out and falls in love with a girl he barely knows flick.

i realized

its called HARDFLIP bc 1/2way thru the movie
it goes from unbearable to a great movie

the first time we watched we started around 1/2way

Baby Driver wasn't a bad movie and I can't say it reminded me of Quentin Tarantino. I can't say if it's like Fast and the Furious because I've never watched the movies apart from a scene or two of the first movie. The movie reminded me more of Minkoff's Flypaper.

The Blair Witch Project on the TV right now.

I remember seeing this at the movies when it came out, and at the time it really was an event. The whole viral marketing campaign that apparently had quite a lot of folks believing it to be true (I personally knew three, two of which for some reason kept on believing even after the nature of the campaign was revealed), and the film being possibly the first "mainstream" film to only use shaky cam and utilize the whole found footage -schtick.

I have to admit as far as memories about the actual film go, there aren't that many. Which is why it's neat seeing it on the TV for the first time in a long time. What I do remember, though, is the very last scene / image of the film. Quite possibly one of the more impactful things I've seen in film, and at the time of the first viewing some 18 (?) years ago definately had me nailed to my seat for a good while.

Casino Royal (2006)- The best Bond Movie ever made! Part of the best Bond 2 part movie arc. My critique is that as Bond saves the world, M gives him a lot of ****. ;) Outstanding intro song, You Know My Name.

Some trivia about SPECTRE and it’s relationship to Quantum. Quantum seemed like a much more sinister, competent, organization that felt more realistic than SPECTRE in the later movie of which I was dissapointed in.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPECTRE

The organisation (Spectre) returns in the Daniel Craig series of Bond films, which are set in an entirely separate continuity to the earlier movies. In the 2015 film Spectre, where the acronym for the eponymous committee is not mentioned in this continuity, simply referred to as "Spectre".[3][4]In the film, Bond is posthumously sent by Judi Dench's M to assassinate Marco Sciarra, which in turn leads him on the trail of the organisation. It is revealed throughout the course of the film that Spectre, and in turn Ernst Stavro Blofeld, have been responsible for the villainous events of the previous Craig films. The "Quantum" organisation that appeared unnamed in 2006's Casino Royale and 2008's Quantum of Solace is revealed to be a subsidiary of Spectre, while Raoul Silva from Skyfall is shown to be affiliated with the organisation. In addition to Silva, Le Chiffre, Mr. White, and Dominic Greene are all revealed to have a direct connection to Spectre.

I am a sucker for giant robots and creatures! So we watched Pacific Rim 2. It was to be as expected. Check your brain at the door and go in for the ride.
I’ll probably stream this. However I liked the first one. :)

While channel surfing I stumbled once again upon The Wicker Man. Not the original one, but the Nicolas Cage one. Now, the original one is one of my favorite films of all time, and I have to say the remake is as well. But for completely different reasons.

I'm not going to go ahead and laud the original with Edward Woodward and Christopher Lee, but rather focus on the stilted genius of the LaBute version. And by that I mean this film should have never, ever been made, and I accept my part in propagating information about it's existence. There will be hell to pay, I'm sure.

Yes, there's Nic Cage in a bear suit, bees, and what have you, but who the hell would greenlight this after reading the script? And why? This is the type of things I think about. Yet I can't not watch this every time it's on TV.

In conclusion, watch the original one. It's really, really great.

The Flying Dagger - An early Chang Cheh Shaws with Lo Lieh as a hero and leading lady Pei-Pei Cheng out to thwart the bad clan after Ms. Pei-Pei kills the rapist son of the villainous ganglord terrorizing the area. Lo Lieh proves his kung fu worth and charisma as a likable hero. The more I watch these late 60s Chang Cheh movies that still featured women in leading roles, the more I like them. This was fun.

I've also been watching the Disney Ultimate Spider-Man episodes with Doctor Strange for my Stephen Strange fix until Infinity War comes out. They're kind of fourth wall goofy (no he doesn't appear in these) but a nice animated riff on Strange (the Disney influence is definitely showing with Stephen but that isn't a bad thing at all).

Just watched "Dunkirk" on Blu Ray. All in all a pretty good movie, but the non-linear timing of the movie left a lot to be desired.

Agreed. Jumping around the timeline threw me off as well. Weakest part of the movie imho.

Was there a submarine in that movie?
I think that was 8 or maybe 21? They all drift (pun intended) into one.
But it was suitably for a Friday night to watch in bed before sleeping.
