Skyfall(2012)

Still great!

It's what women who aren't kinky _think_ is wild, crazy over-the-top sexuality. You know the books this is based on started as Twilight fanfiction ... ;)

Exactly! My girlfriend was going on about it so we decided to watch it together, only for me to fall asleep on the sofa.

Life(2017)

Cool sci-fi along the line of the original Alien. Entertaining, great special effects and good performances. Worth a watch.

The Terminator(1984)

Still great, but the Arnie animatronics haven't aged well.

This is a film that always gets me in heated debates within my circle of friends. It's my firm opinion, that of the first two Terminator films this one is clearly the superior one. Don't get me wrong, I like T2 just fine too, but the atmosphere in this one is just better. Great film.

On another topic, I finally finished Meet the Blacks, or whatever it was called. I really, really shouldn't have, and should instead take a long hard look at my movie-watching habits.

Hmm. I don't know what it was, but I just didn't like this one. I kept waiting for it to get good and then it was over.

I’ll check this out.

I disagree somewhat. T2 is definitely more polished, and compliments the first story which is excellent. However, T2 being a variation and more or less a repeat story, yet being so good, is a testament to it’s strength. I credit James Cameron for that. He’s a film making writer, director, editing genius. :)

We watched DC's "Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay" last night. Excellent animated flick with an R rating. While Marvel may be ruling with the live action movies, DC is the undisputed ruler in the animated arena. If you're a comics fan, (especially of DC) this one had it all. Familiar faces, death and destruction all tightly wound together with some excellent writing and animation. They were definitely not afraid of writing off long established characters in the pursuit of making a good movie. All together it was a really good flick and told a good comic book story. Can't wait to see "The Death Of Superman" when it rolls around my Netflix DVD queue.

Everybody loves Somebody. This came up in my Netflix queue. It's rated 6.5 on IMDB, but I thought it was at least a 7. It was fine for a rom-com.

There's not much I can disagree with here. From a purely technical perspective T2 is obviously vastly superior, but like I said, the (I'm not quite sure if this is the right adjective here, but oh well) dystopian, and darker atmosphere of the first one just works better for me. There might be a fair bit of nostalgia involved as well, I'm not denying that. Entertaining films, the both of them.

Didn't like it myself. Kind of cliche with an ending you see coming miles away but I did enjoy people freaking out over:

if this was prequel to venom

Tried this out hoping for a so bad it's good movie:

The Humanity Bureau (2017)

But it was just really bad and boring.

I watched this:

cause it got some good reviews but it is horrible. Just one big cliche after another and very, very slow moving.

Deadpool 2. I am the target audience. Loved it. Even my wife laughed at parts. I missed it in the theater, so my first viewing was the unreleased version. In a bit I'll watch the theatrical release.

We saw it in the theatre. It was hilarious! Now I have to go and buy the 4K version, so we can see it uncut.

The first half was slow but unique and interesting and the latter half turned into Alien.

TBH i liked it compared to other recent sci-fis which was a low bar to begin with.

Watched "Avengers: Infinity War" again (this time in 4K, at home). Still a great movie! Nice thing is that we got to notice a few new things that we missed in the theatre. I'm going to enjoy being able to go back to this one time and again. Especially when the next one comes out!

Blade Runner 2049

I had sworn off remakes and sequels of "old" movies i like, but i ended up caving. This was a good movie. Its a movie made for the fans of the original(which is prolly why it didnt do well at the box office, and why... its "good"). Technically(cinematography, direction, acting, etc) it was really great. It's half an hour too long but thats just nitpicking.

Pure, epic, captivating, rewarding - classic movie making. A very welcome break from the cynically manipulative special effects marketing devices that Hollywood Inc manufactures these days.
