Spoilers What Movie Are You Watching?

meh. Not horrible but not that good either. Not too unlike The Big Lebowski but not as funny or as endearing.

I'm a *huge* P.T.Anderson fan. And to be honest, I still don't know what this movie(Inherent Vice) was about. I've got to watch it again to try and figure it out. BUT.... it was a real spectacle to watch, beautiful colors, texture, sounds, etc... And i usually don't give a movie a 'second chance', but it was just so beautifully done that I dont mind. :)

Have you seen any of his other films? Magnolia, Boogie Nights?

Nope. I will make an effort though.

Magnolia is in my top 5. Boogie Night is in my top 10. The latter is a bit more conventional and does a great job of transporting the viewer to a different time and place. IMHO

Cheers

I still remember my wife telling me her mom and friend were going to see Boogie Nights because they thought it was about dancing. I was disappointed in my wife for telling them not to go see it. Would have loved to see how long they lasted in they stayed in the theater.

Creed II. Worthwhile sequel to the Rocky saga, most specifically Rocky IV. Certainly not even close to Rocky I, II, and Balboa, but still engaging, entertaining, and at time compelling. It was cool to see Ivan Drago in a different light.

The best ones show you less than more. Although SciFi horror, Alien sits on the top of my list. The Haunting (original) a sentimental favorite due to it’s atmosphere and tension.
Have you watched The Exorcist?

Ever since I watched it, i’ve watched movies in the genre trying to find something better. So far i’ve been unsuccessful.

It’s been so long ago, I did not think of it, but yes, it made me very uncomfortable.

it's hard to take the ending seriously because of the slapstick way they went about it. I found it very aggravating. The rest of the film was serious but with touches of comedy and that worked. But then they acted like a bunch of high school kids after that. [/u]

My problem was the inclusion of Donald Trump's snipped at the end. Don't get me wrong, it's not for political reasons, but because I think it detracted a larger meaning from a much bigger picture than a single presidency. I DO understand what Lee was trying to do, I simply think that he had a gem of a movie but narrowed its meaning down.

A few days back I rented Black Panther based on excellent reviews and desperation. If given a choice between a root canal or watching that movie again I’d choose: root canal.

Infidel! That was a really good MCU movie, and one that was thoroughly enjoyable (especially for comics fans!). What was it you didn't like?

Haha. It has great reviews so I’m certainly an outlier.

The cgi was all over the top and looked cheesy to me....especially any scene with the space ship flying and those rhinos. It seemed illogical that with all the technology the lab and the rival tribes seemed to live in caves using spears not to mention the deep seated rituals. It just didn’t connect for me. To be fair, hero movies aren’t my tastes anyway...except Hancock. That show cracked me up.
