I’ve been wanting to rewatch the Star Trek Kelvin films so on Thursday I saw Star Trek 09 and tonight I saw Into Darkness.
Just curious is anyone here on Letterboxd?

I can post my Letterboxd page tomorrow if anyone wants to follow me.

No greater movie has ever been made, or likely ever will.

I have only seen it one other time, and it was on a small 4/3 TV, with people distracting me.

Had the time to really give it my attention tonight, and I am absolutely floored how amazing movies can be. What a absolutely transformative experience.

it is the single most boring "great" film I've ever seen.

I will buy that in 4K (Think it's avalible to purchase on Apple TV) Great movie. Kind of slow pace suits it well. Saw it back in 1985

Absolute masterpiece - along with Bladerunner, these films influenced every space sci-film that came after.

I was fortunate to read the book prior to seeing the movie. The 'transfer/transport/travel between realms' section at the end of the movie was much better (to my imagination) described in the book. Still...the movie is one of my favorites. And that Score....

Watched The Night Porter on Netflix last night.

Don't waste your time. Terrible low budget film with a slow moving boring plot. Protagonist is meant to be on the autistic spectrum but he's depicted as a weird creep who literally lives in his mother's basement and creeps on women and acts like a robot.

Just awful all around and flat out insulting to anyone on the spectrum themselves.
For a sec thought you were referring to the 1974 'The Night Porter'. A classic. YMMV.

Rewatched Thank You For Smoking. Amazing film, super underrated satire of lobbyists without being in your face or preachy about it at all. Very well written story and characters. Hadn't seen it in years so enjoyed it almost as much as the first viewing.

Fun little tidbit about that film. It was having trouble getting funding from Hollywood because they didn't like the ending (won't say more, don't want to spoil) so Elon Musk jumped in and funded it and got an executive producer credit. Indeed I noticed only on this latest viewing, after hearing about that, he shows up on the opening credits.
Wow. Liked it also. Thanks for the tidbit!

Watched, and very much enjoyed ‘Stowaway’ on Netflix UK. Very good sc-fi thriller. Very tense in places. Great acting.
Liked it also....thought it would stay with the short story 'The Cold Equations' which I read as a teen. DO read the story...short and incredible.

I’m just super disappointed with the number of Dolby vision, 4K and HDR content available to watch on both Netflix and Amazon Prime video.
