Young Frankenstein (1974)- Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder at their peak.

The Quiller Memorandum (1966)

A slow burn Cold War era thriller in the mould of the excellent "The Spy Who Came in from the Cold" (1965). Sadly fails to pull off the same impact, prescience & tension of the latter. Not a bad film, definitely not for fans of action as this one does meander at it's own pace.

A compelling & intense Cold War thriller that still delivers strongly today. Slow paced with a rather appropriate cold & bleak feel to match the mood of the period. Strong performances all round that gel perfectly with the era, resulting in a believable and entertaining film. Well worth a watch for fans of the genre.

Top of their Game...

Anything after is simply a needless cash grab, with the minor exception of Terminator Salvation. Rehashes, reboots, poor casting, bad CGI, weak storylines that make little sense.

The obvious path was for T3 to cover the Future War, however we got a load of nonsense that has effectively killed the franchise. Much the same as Alien, Predator and many others. Hollywood at this point in time only be considered as creatively bankrupt, exacerbated by the Twitter Rage Mob who only serve to destroy artistic content. Resulting in bland, mediocre, meaningless & lifeless films...

From my viewpoint, those are Arnold’s best movies ever made. He’s obviously very genetically gifted, which gives him that real intimidating vibe of how large he is, and then when you add the fact that he’s just basically a cold, emotional killer, this is where it pushed his career in the acting world. Terminator 2 actually ranks one of my ‘top three’ best action movies of all time. (John Wick Chapter 1 being another and ‘Logan’ with Hugh Jackman.)

Suddenly Impact (1983)

Go ahead, make my day...

Can you believe the dude is still acting? At 91 years old, he is still acting, producing _and_ directing. I actually want to see his new latest movie, ‘Cry Macho’. But Clint Eastwood will always inspire me the kid that I was with my fake revolvers watching his western movies, more specifically; ‘The Good the Bad and the Ugly’. (<—And to boot with an amazing score in that movie composed by Ennio Morricone).

All credit where credit is due and long may he continue 👍

It's decent, however wont please all. Attempts to illustrate the rights and wrongs of terrorism and the response. Cant say much more without spoilers. The portrayal is in the sense of down to earth & dirty with a sprinkling of action throughout.

Event Horizon (1997)

A killer Sci-Fi Horror/thriller that the studio should have kept it's nose well out of. Luckily I saw Event Horizon on the big screen  Admittedly too strong for some, equally a horror film and a very dark one. Portraying the story with a strong narrative and mostly impeccable visuals for the time.

A highly stylised high-tech trip to hell, descending into madness & depravity, exposing the crews deepest fears & weaknesses. Settle down, turn off the lights, turn up the volume and take a trip to the Event Horizon...

Those who wish me dead. Lots of poor reviews but decided to watch anyways. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Though it was well done.
