Any good?

A different twist, I can compare it to the twilight zone from before, and yes it's a good series the pilot episode was good.

My bad, because I saw somebody up in the thread posted a TV series also.

I remember reading the Dome, but can't remember if it was a short story or novelette.

Just saw a trailer, but would like to add White House Down to the list of Bad Movies: so bad it's not even funny. :)

Any good? FYI and for future ref, there is a thread devoted to TV.
I saw "Under the Dome" as well. Its got some shock value and gore, but the acting is terrible. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't make it past a full first season. Then again, I don't know much about ratings, so.... I know its based on a Stephen King book, but it just reminds me of "The Simpsons Movie." :p

I'll still end up seeing this, but Jamie Foxx as POTUS screaming "get your hands off my Jordans!" is as ridiculous as it gets. Prepare for eye-rolls and head-shaking galore.

After seeing Jamie Foxx in "Django Unchained", I have no desire to see him in "White House Down" :D.

Good reasoning, I call that crowe-ing! Although I thought Django quite entertaining. Cheesy, but still - probably depends a good deal about what mood you're in and who's with you...

Well, I tried heavily to start some serious flirtation with my neighbor, so every intelligent plot twist shown in the trailer was lost on me, but it was about some Tea Party at the White House, wasn't it? :D

The Big Trees, a 1952 drama starring Kurk Douglass set in California and a conflict between settlers who want to preserve the giant sequoias and greedy lumber men who see dollar signs. Not that he did a bad job based on the script he had to work with, but far from Douglass's best movies, titles such as Spartacus, The War Wagon, Seven Days in May, Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, and The Vikings. If I had to pick one movie it would be "In Harms Way".

Want to know Kirk Douglass's real name? :D

spoiler> Issur Danielovitch Demsky <spoiler

Man of Steel (2013) - 6/10

I honestly don't understand the hype around this movie, yeah sure with has some cool cinematic scenes but a lot of movies has too. The main story i already i know it so yeah.

Free Film Noir Movies

I was browsing around randomly yesterday evening on Flipboard for iPad and came across an article with a link to Free Film Noir Movies.

I know of two people in particular who will probably love this website!

I picked one called The Limping Man to watch last night. I started it playing on the laptop and then used AirPlay Mirroring to send it to the TV. It was a good film. Though it was late when I started it and I ended up falling asleep on the chair near the end, so I will have to catch the rest of it later today.

The Limping Man - Stars Lloyd Bridges and Moira Lister. A WWII veteran goes back to England after the war only to discover that his wartime sweetheart has got mixed up with a dangerous spy ring. (1953)

I wonder - a moment's idle musing - just who you might be referring to........

Having said that, given that I have just purchased an iPad, the application mentioned here sounds most interesting; (I confess that I have already sneaked a peek at both the application Flipboard and at the 'Free Film Noir Movies' site).

Well, it's obviously ME! :p

I mean, was Olympus Has Fallen any better? I get the feeling both films were absolutely horrible.

I really liked it and will get the DVD when it comes out.

It's an action film clone of the "Die Hard" series and, if you enjoyed the "Die Hard" series, you will probably enjoy this film. If not, you will probably hate it.

Note - The movie is 100% unrealistic in terms of plot, tech, character's reactions, etc (similar to "Die Hard"). If you can ignore the fact that the movie is 100% unrealistic, you can enjoy it.

I really like Flipboard. It's a well designed and beautiful app which aggregates and customizes the news and websites you want to follow into one place.

Who are you? .............. :p

My question was rhetorical........I think.........;)

I'm going to look over that Free Film Noir site some more and take in more movies; it looks really neat. <-------------- See how I kept this post on topic? :D

BTW: Nice save...:p

I like Film Noir and have bookmarked the website. <---------------(Note: On topic!)

The original Die Hard was pretty darn good imo. :)

I know. I pretty much liked it when I was a kiddo. Liked all three of them.
Bruce was born for flics like that, Channing Tatum on the oher hand...I can't stand him :D (boo, now I even had to google his name..)

Suspiria earlier today and am about to rewatch Inferno.

I've never seen any Argento / Giallo movies, but those you've mentioned plus Tenebre are long time members on my Amazon watchlist.

Saw Blue Valentine yesterday, worth watching and provides for a fine open ending, one can see that the director shot documentaries before. Very nice and intelligent person btw. Saw a discussion at some indie festival with the actors, producers and the director - what a charming bunch.
