I rented Netflix today so I could watch "The Rip." I was somewhat disappointed but I'll give it three apples for keeping me guessing most of the movie. I noticed you mentioned the excess cussing, which is something I usually notice, but I did not in this movie.

Any of you who have Netflix I would welcome any recommendations as to what I might watch next. I've seen "Stranger Things", "Breaking Bad", and "Homeland". My daughter said she heard "Suits" was a good show. I'd love something new to binge on! 🙂
House of Cards= great
Haunting of Hill House= A nice scare.
Queen’s Gambit, I loved this.

…although none of these are new releases.

If you enjoy drama then I would highly recommend both Bloodline and Ozark on Netflix. Great actors and great storytelling. In my opinion, these are two of the best Netflix original series.
Bloodline was tremendous, I just forgot to recommend it in my suggestion post. 🙂
Oh Sense 8!

Fangs of the Living Dead (1969)
1770740634732.png

A beautiful virgin inherits a castle, but when she arrives at it, she finds that the inhabitants include a strange nobleman and a bevy of beautiful women she suspects may be vampires. A light-hearted take on the genre, most definitely B movie territory...

Just watch Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom. It's as bad as everyone says.🫤 CGI is top notch, better than previous movies in the franchise, but so many ridiculous factual mistakes that makes suspension of belief impossible. Lava splashes on the head of a dinosaur and it shrugs it off as if it were water.🙄 1000° C anything pouring on a critter's head means instant death. Lava, inches away from you is harmless. As long as you're not touching it, you're safe. The floor is lava logic.😏

I followed up with a movie with almost zero CGI, but very believable plot: Sniper the White Raven.

A good story, although it feels a bit rushed. There is too much story to squish into 2 hours. Cliche story of a peaceful man driven by the desire for vengeance. Ukrainian hippie joins the war effort against Russia because 2 Russian soldiers killed his wife and burned his house. He uses his advance knowledge of math (he's a math/physics teacher), cussedness and talent to become be best sniper in his brigade.

The Innocents (1961)
1770974083758.png

A young governess for two children becomes convinced that the house and grounds are haunted. The Innocents is one of those films that prove subtlety & imagination can be multiple times more terrifying than loud noises or jump scares. This film scares the psyche with darkness, silence & possibility, all mingled with deliberate refusal to give the audience an easy answer at the end...
