Well I kinda lost my verve for him after "the slap"... but yeah he was fun to watch for a while.
Me too, it’s just “not done” to get physical with the host at an awards show, no matter how bad his jokes. But his style of acting was based on a young-man persona and he just didn’t do the self-deprecating, reflective kind of humor, and he didn’t reinvent himself… he just seemed to become “angry entitled older man.”

I thought After Earth was another nail in the coffin. It was a kind of father-and-son star vehicle, but it was a terrible flop, and it smelled of nepotism, not of great acting.

Agree, recently watched I, Robot. Wil Smith's performance has aged like warm milk. There are now far better films on the subject of AI self-awareness gone awry such as Ex machina & Companion which will remain timeless. As for After Earth a sheer waste of money & time for all concerned, especially those that paid to watch.

Rocketman (2019)

The musical fantasy about Elton John's breakthrough years, from his time as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music through his influential and enduring musical partnership with Bernie Taupin. Was a fun watch with some great tracks from the past.
