If i didn't already have an 80gb ipod then it would probably matter a bit more to me. but if i'm on a trip or something where i really need all my music and movies then i'll probably have the ipod along with me.

8GB so that I dont regret having less capacity later on when I could have bought the higher capacity.

i won't settle for anything but an 8g. When the nanos came out, i "needed to have one" so i bought the 2g because that was the only one left anywhere i could find, and i've been kicking myself in the ass for it for a long time

Hopefully I'll be getting the 8gb, I've just got to come up with some more money for it in the next week.

Since I cant put all my music on a 4GB model, and I plan to add video's too...

8GB FTW!!!!!

I don't see many people going for the 4g unless they are desperate to get one that same day and the 8g ones are sold out.

I really don't understand why they do this. It happened with the X-Box 360 (core vs. platinum) and the PS3.

Maybe it's just a way to upsell you $100 easily.

8 GB...you have to figure that all the phone software must take up close to 500mb. You wouldn't end up with that much usable space on a 4 GB version.

I am going for the 8GB version. The 4GB version is far too limited for me. However, I am not sure what I would do if only the 4GB version is there. I will say now that I would walk away. But, standing in line for a few hours I might take it.

There are already several threads on the same topic, one with a poll option even.

I'm sure I'll get whatever they have at the store. If they have an 8, I'll get it. $100 more I'll be real sorry if I don't.

will get the 8G phone but i do like little nanos

For nanos, I actually like a 2Gb white one that I "settled for" early on. I sync all my iPods manually and the big ones take some sitting down and thinking time. The little nano I just wipe out and reload it with whatever playlists or albums strike my fancy at the moment (and will fit, or mostly fit). I use it in the car, and often enough it's where I discover how much I really like or don't like some new acquisition from iTunes. I treat it like a 2nd gen shuffle, I guess, only it's easier to pick where I want it to start.

But for the iphone, it's pricey enough that i figure i should get as much as possible for the incremental bucks. So.. 8Gb for sure!
