Could you guys mention the country where you get it from? USA, UK.. etc

Believe it or not my experience with iPhone 6 plus.. I ordered one from USA store and one from UK store and when I compared them the screen was a little different. not very noticeable but I can see it. In general the UK copy felt a little better in quality and colors and even when it is off the black color on the US one was really brownish but the UK one was more to green.

I think there are different depending on the region. but again this was with iPhone 6 but maybe it is the same with Macbooks

Would love to see batterylife numbers as well! Might tell us more about why some macbooks have horrible batterylife while others are fine.

13" nTB A033

Coming from a 2013 MBA, the screen is a huge improvement. From a basic user, everything is fine. Though it may just be me, but I feel like the screen brightness doesn't increase linearly. Once I get to the last quarter of brightness levels, the brightness just shoots up compared to increasing brightness around the middle levels. Not really a complaint though.

my 13" nTB gets fantastic battery life.

Sure, there are variations. But there's also psychology involved with this BIG time.

4 years ago it's was rather lively around here at about this time. Should be fun, if history repeats itself here.

Are we talking LG vs Samsung?

that'd be a good guess. LG almost certainly,

Samsung possibly, or maybe even Japan Display/ or even Sharp since its Foxconn

4 years ago when the first rMBP came out, Samsung was the preferred screen. Many LGs owners reported image retention and some bought and returned multiple devices trying for one with a Samsung screen. Then others started complaining about yellow screens on the Samsungs. It was possibly the longest running thread of all time on MacRumers and probably why Apple has made it impossible to find out the manufacturer of your screen today.

This is what my 13" TB A033 screen looks like:

A yellowing towards the bottom of the screen. Using my i1 Display Pro I've measured the bottom to be 400 K warmer than the top, which fits into my perception of the white point difference.

Here is the image that is being displayed, I find it is good to show uniformity.

Dang I definitely saw what you're describing in the pic before reading the text.

Gonna swap?

Like it? the screen and computer ?

Love the computer, don't like the screen... In the attachment you can find a photo - side by side with the 12-inch Macbook. Both are at 4 brightness clicks from 0. 12" looks better at low brightnes, 13" is a bit dull, the background is greyish compared to 12". When I increase the brightness the contrast gets better, but it's too bright for my eyes. I'm afraid it's not only my computer, but a general characteristic of the screen. I wish I was wrong, but this is my feeling.

Funnily enough, the manufacture ID of the 12" is the same (0610), and model is A027.

Odd, I think I have same panels. A027 and for sure a034 (12" is at home and about to go on travels)

Haven't compared notch for notch, but at full brightness the 13" is significantly brighter and more vibrant. Maybe you got a bum a034. Edit: I see you said a characteristic of screen, you've tried a bunch of demos?

A027 I think is one that fizzled not long after launch. One that I'm clamoring to because I personally believe 12" started getting inferior screens as common practice. Both my parents rMB's one a late 2015 build and another that's 2016 both look sort of faded and comparatively
Not as crisp (and a notch less bright) but you'd still be impressed as it being your first retina screen and nothing else to reference (and my parents couldn't care less anyways even if I did point it out)

Sorry to hear! Are you going to try another ?
