My primary use of my iPad is browsing the Internet.

I also use it to watch TV "on demand", stream Music via Spotify/YouTube.

Also use it as my Alarm Clock and for reading newspapers (trying to convince my boss to save herself 65p/day on the Daily Mirror Monday through Friday!)

Why do people use chrome? Does it have any advantages over safari?

It has the significant advantage of not being restricted to Apple devices. I use Chrome so that my bookmarks and settings are synced across my iOS, Android, and Windows devices. If I used Apple products exclusively then I would probably use Safari as my main browser.

Currently i use my Air1 to refresh my order status on Apple Store to see with the 9.7 IPP is dispatched...

But in general, as someone else said, it's for media consumption: books, tv shows, movies, comics, news, web browsing, playing games

Phone is for consuming music, podcasts, remote control of tv/cable/appleTv and occasionally verbally communicating with other people

I gotta go with arm rest. However, I think it'd be possible to balance the 12.9 iPad on that thing and write on it with the Pencil. If you want to set it up with the Smart Keyboard or other keyboard case, forget it. I wouldn't attempt that even with the 9.7.
It's not an arm rest trust me. These are desks. It really sucks.

In this order:

* Browsing
* Reading books
* Writing (can't wait for Scrivener for iOS)
* Listening to podcasts and Music
* Watching videos
* Email

Reading (mostly pdfs) and taking notes. Those are things you cannot do well on a MacBook. Therefore upgrading to iPad pro so I can use the Apple pencil.
