Looks can be deceiving. Go to the store and hold one for yourself.

It's a great phone but after all the talk about premium build and materials, the 5c is definitely not premium. But it still has a premium price.

If the 5c and 5 were both available at $550 ($99), which would you buy?

If they had the 5C in black, probably that one...since it will be MUCH more durable. The 5 lost paint by just using it.

I wouldn't go to the store to look at one because I already know I'm not interested in it for the colors alone. It's marketed to the colorful.

I'm not one of the colorful ones.

Well, while I have 0 interest in the colors I was interested in the build quality. How can you judge the quality of the product if you have never handled one? All you know is the colors aren't suited to your taste. I agree. But they are not cheap or poorly made.

True.

I would buy the 5c. I've held one in store and like it a lot.

There is no overstock, if they could they would have had just as many 5s iphones in stock now. They could easily produce the 5c hence they are well stocked, 5s has manufacturing restraints due to the Touch ID.

Hmm.. so if you don't mind my asking

Just what is it about the Touch ID that makes it hard to make?

Are the workers going through a training program?

I would have bought the 5C if it didn't have old specs.

I would've bought the 5c if it had some interesting features or something... it has nothing worth value.

But the fact that they charge $500+ for it is unreal.

Overstock? Wow! People in this forum truly amaze me!! There is no overstock of this phone. NONE. Apple did exactly what they wanted to do. The 5c has been up for pre-order since 9-13. Is it overstocked because it's not sold out? No!! Apple made sure they had Ample supply of the phone that needed ample supply. The 5c Is selling great. And it is a great phone

dude the shelves are full.

dude the shelves are full.

Apple couldn't win either way.

If the shelves were empty because of sellout, people would complain that Apple underestimated demand and that they couldn't get their iPhone as a result (like gold 5S). Make enough stock, and people criticize and say Apple built a product that doesn't sell.

Yes, people would complain because it's bad for the ones who want a phone.

But a sold out phone on its first weekend is a good thing for Apple. That means it's a hit. Like a sold out movie or show.

The fact that a new phone like the 5c is still available in volume means it isn't a success.

In a way, Apple's winning by having sold out phones. Even though they have to wait.

But what they don't like is Apple shoving the phone that nobody wants down their throats while hiding the 5s.

There's no way Apple would ever underestimate the demand for the 5s.

I'm think the 5c is doing what it set out to. A couple phones sold here and there. Plenty stock. It's not in a bad position necessarily. Maybe it wasn't supposed to be the hottest phone in the market.

Don't worry, OP, you'll still be able to look down your nose at all the little people with your new 5S.

..and if you haven't laid your hands on a 5C and actually used it, then your opinion is worthless.

you know if nobody read macrumors, then nobody would know the 5C was plastic. It honestly does not feel plasticy at all. "ceramic" is the most common description used to describe the 5C.

But why do i even bother, the OP and most others in this thread trashing the 5C are trolls (hence being banned) lol.

It's not overstocked. Plenty of people are buying them. And some locations have sold out.

Now, was this a planned amneuver to see how many people would spring for the c when the ridiculously low s numbers were discovered? Part of me thinks so. But the more rational part of me realizes that is stupid business lol.

Lol everyone will be banned at some point. You can't say good things all the time. Sometimes you gotta tell it like it is.

I picked up a 32GB Green 5C for ATT yesterday. They had that one in stock, however they were showing me on their little iPhone check out devices they were sold out of quite a bit of the different variations on various carriers.

It's a popular phone. It's also a sturdy phone too. It's using Poly-carbonate plastic with a metal frame underneath. Not the normal cheap plastic we see from the likes of Samsung. It's built to be a solid phone.

dude the shelves are full.

You ever think that's because Apple wanted more 5c's then 5s's. The 5c has sold more then this 5s this weekend. I'm guessing it to be about 55 to 45%. Part of the is under stock of the 5s yes, but the 5c is selling. There are places around me sold out of both phones.

----------

I see that people are ticked off about the 5c and the 5s sales comparison.

Idk about ticked off, but there were quadruple the 5c's over the stock of the 5s so I'm pretty sure the 5c has sold just as much if not more

Yes, how dare apple for assuming more people would buy a cheaper iPhone than the more expensive iPhone. It has nothing to do with the fact the 5C is far easier to make than the 5S, and thus can be produced in much greater quantities in a much shorter time.

But hey, i guess everyone here is smarter than a multi-billion dollar company.

So they were over prepared for one release but totally unprepared for the other?

If the 5c was selling as good as the 5s wouldn't you think it would be sold out and not fully shelved with people begging us to buy it when we call in looking for the 5s?

Or is the truth that neither are selling and they both offset each other's weaknesses?
