If you’re holding off on buying a new Mac you say you need because of the bezels, just go buy an Etch-A-Sketch or a Speak and Spell, because your workload is not mission-critical to anyone in this world in the least.
or ..., and it's a suggestion, we let people buy what they want, for whatever reasons they want without judging them, as long as it doesn't affect us. Let's try. it can be fun!! :):)

I've been using an iPad Air for the past few weeks. While the bezels could be smaller, I do love the symmetrical look.
I'm hoping all the laptops in Apple's line up could adopt this.

The different bezel sizes in the current MacBook don't look as refined.
I wish they could figure a way to not only improve the camera, and make it smaller to so the top bezel weren't so thick.

It's not a major issue, but I'm a bit OCD.
Some of us actually hold our iPads. For us, bezels actually can be too small.

if I go off of Apple's official press release back in June, we are getting one Mac that is being released/announced. with the full release of Big Sur.

"Apple plans to ship the first Mac with Apple silicon by the end of the year and complete the transition in about two years."

Thats an interesting point, it is indeed singular not plural. :D

I hope you're wrong about your prediction. If all they've got ready is the 13" machines I'm going to be hugely disappointed.
The more powerful Intel + AMD GPU's in 16" laptops have way higher metal score than A14 variations. Don't you want something with future Apple GPU added?

People can buy whatever they want, but this relentless whining about the size of the bezels on a device that is meant to be used for work (or play) as a reason not to buy the device is strictly a First World Problem and as much as I try to skip reading those forum posts, I inevitably do and the level of continued pissing and moaning just amazes me.

I actually dont agree with it being a ‘first world problem’, but it is a preference over a must have.
When using my ex imacpro I was constantly distracted by the size of the bezel, and am much happier with my LG 4K screens.

I struggle to understand how people can still buy an imac, but really it simply boils down to they must have an all in one mac. No other reason seems logical.

Also all the competition have slim bezel computers now - check out HP, Dell etc. There is no real excuse to have them and this is probably where my frustrations lie when I am spending thousands of dollars on a computer [and a premium with Apple].

However, I cannot go and buy an AS 13” MBP [my partner wants to update her 2016 model], and it is exactly the same as the 2016 model. To me the whole reason to go AS is to create thin, light, cool, long battery life and reasonably powered laptops and not just use the same old chassis and screen. How the hell does that show off the benefits?
And to be honest, in my opinion the 13“ is fine the speeds it is at right now, and that is not the prime reason for AS.

Most likely if there aren’t any design updates, we wont be buying and will just wait it out.
Happy to watch everyone else test out the new computers for me, if there is nothing new and shiny except the cpu/gpu.

How many years will macOS still support intel processors? I'm hoping for at least 3 more years.

I am really interested in the graphics performance for 3D modeling software. Rendering uses CPU power, but working in the software requires GPU power.
Don’t care about games, as games are moving away from the desktop for most people, but professional GPU uses are vital.

They could announce a toaster running MacOS, I'm upgrading no matter what. My Late '12 Base Mini (SSD/Ram Upgrade) has been an absolute trooper and still runs better than every Windows machine in our office, but the time has come. Telling you I got my money's worth is an understatement, 12-14 hours a day of constant use for nearly 9 years, I owe it money at this point.

perfect timing. My 2017 macbook pro I refuse to own out of warranty because of the nightmare it has been for repairs and the warranty runs out December 31. Really hope the battery life is insane.

My wishes are for a 5G-ready Macbook, 1080p camera (with sliding privacy cover) and a new Apple TV. Another crazy wish would be a partnership with Oculus. (No, I don’t have any idea what I mean by that.)

I have one question: any reason an ARM MBP wouldn’t have the same storage capabilities as the current MBPs? (4TB is the current maximum for the 13”.) Is the consensus more/less/same?

Anyone else disappointed that the new device won't be a revival of the macbook? No, just me? Sigh.

Would you be OK with the 480p camera? :)

Aside from that I would like to see a ~2 lb laptop from Apple.

So what would the difference be between a Air and a 13" Pro? Just the touchbar?
Maybe the Air will demonstrate how small a battery you can get with Apple Silicon and still have current expectations of battery life, and the Pro will show how many more hours you can get with the current battery sizes.

There will probably be some performance differences to show how the range of processors scale. Maybe the Pro will join the 16” on 16GB RAM as standard. The Pro might have an HDR screen, possibly a better webcam, and better speakers, plus almost certainly more ports.

AppleVR... place your $1000 iPhone Pro Max into the newly designed headset. AR virtual keyboard included.

It’s gonna be cool to learn more but I’m waiting until the quirks are worked out in gen 2 or 3. The CPUs should be further refined by then, especially if they’re doing their own GPUs which is my bigger concern. Looking forward to the event, though. I’m interested in buying their studio headset if it’s under $500. I need all the noise cancellation I can get working at home with kids. I also think Apple will make them look pretty sharp compared to their Beats line. Nice minimalism and clean design.

While I apologize for pissing you off, never the intent. Like many have said, especially with the iMac, there's no point buying a new device when it looks like the one all the way from 2012. Refreshing designs, like they do for the iPhone, drives up sales and allows us to refresh devices. I did change my wording as I don't NEED anything but it's definitely my preference... especially when we've seen the cool new designs and would love to upgrade. Especially, when my keyboard has gone through 4 replacements because of a design flaw... at some point I'd prefer to stop being without the device for two weeks for the same flaw getting continuously repaired. We also live in a more modern world where Dell for years has had almost bezel-less devices and I'd rather stick with MacOS than windows. But no, I don't need it so apologies on that. But if Apple WANTS our business some design improvements would be nice and sometimes bezels is the easiest (as witnessed with the iPhone X).

if all they got are 13 inchers, than why bother trying to liquidate the 16inchers?
