Who wrote the click-bait nonsense near the end of the aritcle?

Airtags are not going to be shown. Over-the-ear Airpods are not going to be shown.

This is an event for Macs and Macs ONLY.

I am really interested in the graphics performance for 3D modeling software. Rendering uses CPU power, but working in the software requires GPU power.
Don’t care about games, as games are moving away from the desktop for most people, but professional GPU uses are vital.
Yes both CPU and GPU - I max both out, depending what software I am using.
I tried using the AMDw5700 and my 16” MBP maxed out for this and it was crap. Went onto bootcamp with a 2080 S and it was like a revelation to me [using the exact same apps]. So I bought a PC...... which improved again massively in speed. Both GPU and MBP are now sat on the shelf unused.

I had avoided using PC’s for so long as I love macs, but seriously just get a pc for your 3D work, and use a mac for everything else and you will be more productive and happier.

I have little hope for AS and 3D except for C4D, Octane and Unity. If you use any of those you may be good [I don’t], as I believe they are all shifting or have shifted to metal.

I hope that with the savings in battery life due to the new CPU will result in higher refresh displays. Put in the same battery as the Intel MacBook Pro model. 60hz is not all that good looking in 2020.

I've been using an iPad Air for the past few weeks. While the bezels could be smaller, I do love the symmetrical look.
I'm hoping all the laptops in Apple's line up could adopt this.

The different bezel sizes in the current MacBook don't look as refined.
I wish they could figure a way to not only improve the camera, and make it smaller to so the top bezel weren't so thick.

It's not a major issue, but I'm a bit OCD.
F42. 9 - ICD-10-CM?

Maybe this has been answered before, but what is the future of virtualization OS programs such as Parallels, VMWare Fusion, or even Boot Camp for Windows users?

No need to do that. Macs (Intel based Macs) can install windows, and thanks to Thunderbolt 3 one can hook up a dedicated graphics card to their machine.
several reasons :
25% speed reduction using egpu over using PCIE in a PC.
issues with scaling on bootcamp - no such problems on a PC [I don't know why]
Need a decent size partition to run it properly [my 5gb models in twinmotion were a bag of hurt]
AS won't run bootcamp.

Apple will have to really impress me, I am already planing out a PC build to replace my mac pro 2013 trash can. Have a feeling I am a gone for good.
Your expectations are off by about 2 years. No way in hell are you going to see even a hint about that level of performance chip, except in the abstract.

Hasn’t “one more thing” always been used for surprise announcements? ARM based Macs great, but we knew they were coming, and the same for AirTags; let’s hope they’ve something else in the bag.

Surprise?

Big Surprise.

There are no answers, only speculations. Tuesday, there might be answers. But some answers might not be under apple’s control. Boot camp particularly. Microsoft is the one who dictates whether the ARM version of Windows is available, and right now it isn’t.

Any guesses if Big Sur will finally be released? I've just had my MacBook back from the official reseller getting the battery replaced and it needs a complete rebuild. I've got so much leftover junk on it, a fresh Big Sur installation could be just the ticket....

On the day of a 24-inch iMac announcement I will buy it.
Even without waiting for a consolidated successor, which I always did.

So since 1984 we've had 68k, PPC, and Intel... now we get ARM-based chips from Apple.

Cool - a new architecture every 10 years? Whereas Wintel has been the same all that time. Be interesting seeing how this (and the depreciation of OpenGL - which presumably won't get ported to ARM) will impact my usage as I use a lot of self-compiled emulators and stuff.

For example right now I use Mednafen (as a Saturn Emulator) and Reicast (as a Dreamcast emulator). Unless I can compile these for ARM with Metal, I might have to stick with Intel Macs or switch to Windows. I know this is just gaming but I don't use my Mac for a lot more than word processing (don't use Pages/Numbers as my colleagues all use Office), web browsing and casual gaming. Hopefully some devs have already thought this out and there will be ad-hoc fixes...etc (at least for converting stuff to Metal). Emulation on ARM? Can only hope for decent ports as that's way above my (basic) programming skill level.

Native arm Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop pleaseeeeeee. This is the most important thing for me to get the arm mac day one.
'All that said, Apple does say we should expect pure performance — not just efficiency — in one category in particular: graphical performance. Apple writes that the ARM initiative will also give the Mac “higher performance GPUs,” including additional horsepower for games, and it showed off a few apps (Affinity Photos, Unity, the aforementioned Cinema 4D, and Dirt: Rally) taking advantage of Apple’s Metal framework to fire instructions directly to the GPU.'

Why put up with Grandpa Adobe snoring for another 10 years? They had great years, I remember.
So you are loyal to them in the first place?
I have successfully migrated my system to the Affinity suite without any problems.

Worried many are going to feel let down.

Products that look the same, run a modified A14 chip, run old mac software ok, run specially written software nicely and battery life is a bit better.

Expecting anything more than that?

'What’s more, Apple’s ARM-powered Macs will be able to automatically translate some existing Intel apps thanks to Apple’s Rosetta 2 conversion software: while they looked a little ugly, both Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Dirt: Rally were running that way, as was Autodesk Maya.'

Microsoft also develops for ARM:
'Using the same Apple A12Z Bionic chip you’ll find in an $800 iPad Pro, the company showed that a low-power ARM desktop can already handle a variety of power user apps on Mac, including:
Versions of Microsoft Office (...) running natively on ARM' (...)'

More detail to be seen in the Apple Community (of course not @MR)

Apple have said there will be no bootcamp for the ARM machines.

Ok am I the only one here...the event clearly says ONE more thing. Meaning there is only one product. One more thing also refers to something we haven’t heard about from Apple yet, so it’s not the silicone macs, they already brought those up. Ladies and gents, we’re getting the official Apple Glass announcement.

One more thing? ... It’s certainly not siliconE macs! Haha.

seriously though, Apple glass? Quite possible! It could be anything. Who knows with Apple anymore. All I know is to temper expectation. I won’t be disappointed with AS though.
