i think this is gonna be the conference after which everybody finally takes a step back and decides to have an honest discussion about Apple under Tim Cook's leadership. I think this is gonna be the second or third big event now with only some minor announcements?

seriously if a Siri SDK and OSX port are the best they can come up with, people need to start asking some hard questions about where this is all going.

whats the best they could come up with (and don't say Skylake MBP)? Major enhancements to Siri and iMessage are a big deal.

To all the people who attend the wwdc, let's boo Apple when they introduce MacBooks pro or air with their new, flat keyboard. The biggest turnoff for the MacBook.
People won't boo because WWDC attendees are classy and respectful.

It's only 21 hours until we are inevitably disappointed!

Something that I do seriously expect is changing the icon grid for larger iDevices. The larger iPad Pro looks ridiculous with four icons in a row surrounded by huge amount of blank space. And for Steve's sake, add the home screen widgets finally, Apple.

Im sorry but I'm at the point where I'm considering moving back to PC. If Apple can't come out and give a major hardware update to their computers I'm not sure what else to do. Ive been needing to get a Mac Pro for a couple months now but the hardware is way too old for the price they are selling at. The dual GPU's are getting beat in computing by 980's and now the 1080's. Why spend $4k on a computer that has 4 year old hardware? I feel like Apple is ignoring their computer lineup.

15 hours until the most disappointing WWDC yet. Shall we also start the countdown to the most disappointing iPhone yet?

I'm patiently awaiting 2017 already.

Anyone know if there's a spoiler-free thread on MacRumors yet? I can't seem to find it. I'm busy during the live broadcast, and would like to watch the stream later (which can usually be downloaded directly from Apple's servers after the show). Usually there's a spoiler-free post/thread already set up, but I don't see it, and it's a pain to try to find it tomorrow when the internet will be full of said spoilers.

Apple is simply out of ideas. Anyone else starting to see a shift where Apple is biting off on Android? Each WWDC and Special Event makes it more apparent that Apple is using up the last of Steve's ideas and has produced very few of their own. I'm seeing more ingenuity from the likes of Amazon. Cook and Ive just aren't as impressive anymore, standing on their own.

Want some good advice? Sell yer AAPL.

This is WWDC, they key of this is 'developers conference'. This isn't geared towards general customers, it's aimed at developers and tools for them to work with and things they can now use. It's just that interest in Apple has got to the point where even a developers conference in under the spotlight. WWDC isn't about new hardware, yeah ok Apple should spread out hardware releases instead of having them all at the end of the year. WWDC shouldn't be about hardware releases and people shouldn't expect them at WWDC, so failure to launch hardware at WWDC shouldn't mean it's a failure.

Here's what I'm thinking!

Introduction of iOS X. They talk about Swift 3, and then launch XCode for iOS X. You read that right guys, from here on out you'll be able to make iOS apps from an iPad Pro.

People who post here love to hate on anything TC.

That's because some people need to hate and tear down someone else, usually someone prominent and successful, in order to feel good about themselves. Weird. But I guess that gets them through the day feeling worthy and powerful.

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off on Monday,

I hate to say, but I have little to zero interest this year, and probably won't anytime soon until there is a refresh of talent in the software department at Apple. Basically I've lost faith in Apple's software, after years off disappointing releases and an endless train of bugs and glitches. My late 2015 top of the line iMac just froze and rebooted by itself again, a problem that is fairly frequent - but the point is it never happened until the release of 10.11.4 and still continues into 10.11.5.

iTunes is just a mess, and it's been that way for awhile. It's the same old fastidious devotion to bloatware - nobody is thinking different anymore. Apple music began as an all out mess, and usually software that starts that way never seems to recover. iOS 8, iOS 9, OS X Yosemite and El Capitan, all of had issues where invariably Apple's software quality comes into question, as well it should.

So I just don't care what's new anymore, it's just more underwhelming features that signal the now typical annual start of the grand parade of more glitches and bugs, and many more months of waiting and waiting until Apple get's it straightened out - if they ever do at all. Even after release after release of public betas...

Prior to the release of OS X 10.0, Apple surprised everyone by releasing a public beta, uncharacteristic of Apple at the time. I don't remember if it was WWDC or Macworld, but during Steve Job's keynote, he highlighted the feedback Apple received from the beta, and even acknowledged all of the critical feedback. Concluding, he publicly thanked everyone who participated in the beta and said that because of their help we will get a much better OS. Fast forward to today. Once again, Apple is releasing public betas of OS X and iOS - and neither Federighi or anyone else on Apple's senior staff has ever publicly acknowledged the contributions or help of public beta testers. Not even once.

My sentiments exactly. The problem I have is that I'm an Apple platforms apps developer with 25+ years of software development experience. I've "hitched my wagon" to Apple with several app of my own in their stores and also have developed/maintained apps for other parties. So now I'm on the "decouple from Apple" mode. It's going to be a rough transition, but I have no choice to make the break now while I still have time left in my career. Sad, but Apple is on an unrecoverable course at this point.
[doublepost=1465795484][/doublepost]However... I guess I can offer one prediction for this WWDC 2016: It will be the biggest superficial developer A$$ kiss in Apple's history.

Everyone there will get heaps of "participation trophy" treatment and it will be a big "kumbaya group hug" share the love fest. Apple will announce useless changes to the App Stores that will not actually work (see my earlier posts in that thread). The flavor-aid drinkers who attend this year will lap it all up, but the people who don't bother to attend will pay little attention.

Apple will walk away from WWDC will a fuzzy feeling and so good about themselves, but their downhill path will continue.

I expect some enhancements in Maps, Siri on the Mac and hopefully some Siri APIs for developers.
I'm not holding my breath for products announcements. Maybe something about the Mac Mini or the MBA but nothing revolutionary, they might wait the September event for that. And please Tim, no more watch bands if they don't provide new features but are just new colours...

I wait new macbooks pro if Apple annunces them.
Apple won't give us the new Macbook pro? Tomorrow i will buy an asus or other windows notebook and i will tell to Apple: "Bye bye!"

Kind of a bit of a strange event to tie that to given that the main focus is generally not hardware.

Anyway I bet:
No new hardware. At all.

Event focuses on iOS. They might even not have Macs on stage - just iPad Pros.

Possible launch of XCode for iOS.

I used to fathom the idea that iOS 10 would be called iOS X and be marketed as the first true replacement for Mac OS X. But it sounds like they're going to ditch the X name completely and just call it iOS 10.

Man I hope there will be some actual hardware announcements and not just Apple execs publicly pleasuring themselves over sales figures announcements and slide presentations of new watch bands.
