Here are the few things I would like:
  • Add back the calculator widget for macOS (I used that all the time, and find it annoying to open up a calculator app for simple calculations; yes, I understand I can do it in Spotlight, but the widget was so useful
  • Provide sidecar capability for Mac screens; I purchased a 2020 iMac as an upgrade for a 2011 iMac, and I really miss the Target Display Mode functionality. Having a work MBP that I could just plug into the iMac and use as a screen was a huge benefit! I miss that greatly, and am running some crazy hack by booting off the work MBP as a external HD and it sort-of-works but has various issues. Having sidecar for any macOS system would be amazing, or even just bringing back the hardware capability in large iMacs would be great—I'd purchase a new one if TDM came back.

I honestly can't see homeOS being a new thing...Everyone here knows how to say it, however to the general public it appears to be a MEME or joke waiting to happen....If people read it wrong or say it wrong, its a PR nightmare....

Nice to have an Apple Event where we do not know many details about what will be announced. Actually looking forward to this and expecting more than a few surprises. Fingers crossed we will see a legitimately Pro version of iPadOS for the new iPads and some indications of what to expect from the future of Apple Silicon.
I wonder if they haven’t been as productive this year due to COVID. Maybe we are light on details because we are light on features? Maybe it’s an optimization year?

Apple is updating iMessage to better compete with other messaging apps like WhatsApp, but what new features we can expect remains unknown.

Last year, there was evidence that Apple was testing features like retracting sent messages, group chat typing indicators, and marking messages as unread, but none of these materialized in the iOS 14 update. It's possible that we might see some of these surface in the iOS 15 update.
Wow, they better have more up their sleeve than that for Messages. Other great apps like Signal have automatic disappearing messages and sharable group links. Apple needs to step up their game on this one.

I don’t think we’ll see macOS 12 just yet. I think they’re going to ride 11 a little longer than usual while the transition is completing. But I’d be happy to be wrong.
What are you talking about??

They always announce new major macOS version at WWDC. When have you ever seen any major Apple operating system last more than a year??

I wonder if homeOS will be for the new HomePod, since it’s supposed to have a screen.

I hope Apple brings a new real-time captioning to Accessibility for Deaf and Hard of Hearing users. Google has this feature called Live Caption on Android phones and Chrome browsers.

I hope there's also news about the impending higher-end Mac Mini, or possibly that rumored "Mac Pro Cube" I heard about, since next year I will be buying such a Mac to replace my 2012 quad-core i7 Mac Mini as my main desktop computer.

The nicest thing will be the lack of pauses for audience reaction during the announcements. Keeps things moving at a decent clip for us folks watching at home.

Wonder if iPadOS will finally get a calculator, even if it’s only a home page widget.

I don’t think we’ll see an M2 chip. However, we might see a beefed up M1, say with 32GB of RAM and/or maybe a nicer GPU. They may call it M1X or something.

I DO expect big iPadOS news. We may finally see iPadOS break more from iOS for the new M1 iPad Pro. I think Logic Pro and Final Cut for iPad are most likely, but I would love to see Xcode.

New MacBook Pros are obvious guesses for developers. But I think people will be disappointed with the offerings. They may just be M1 processors with bigger screens.

I really believe Apple is going to get as much out of M1 as they can. The M1 branding will be around for a long time with incremental upgrades. It may be another 2 years before we see a true M2 upgrade.

IOS I'm not too worried about. (Better widget control?) I have no clue what they want to do with iPad os or watch os either.

Mac OS. Clean it up. Big Sur is like 90% there. Slight improvement, cleaner menu choices, and so on. It's pretty good all things considered. Please just make slight adjustments, and stability for a year. I'm begging you. I want a desktop/laptop experience that is rock solid.

Hardware.

new laptops. 14 and 16. Hopefully keeping the same pricing would be great too. I'm fine dropping $2400 for a laptop that can last me five years, has a 1tb of storage and 32 gigs of ram. (That's what i'm hoping with the 14 inch). Please Apple.

Mac Mini Pro. Also very tempting. As long as it can run 3 displays, that's a great computer.

Long shot but hopeful. External displays. 24-32 inch ones. Please Apple. I would love a desktop experience with three apple monitors. Center big one, two smaller ones on either side.
