I expect a lot of MR users to be disappointed with iPad software enhancements, just like every year.
Liking the sound of these. I don't use carplay since my vehicle is old and doesn't have it but liking those other suggestions that I can relate toHere is what I want to see:
iPadOS
iOS
- Improvements to Safari to better handle desktop-oriented websites
- A better way to add apps to the slide in sidebar (right now, you have to launch the app so it appears in the dock first)
- Multi-tasking - it still feels clumsy when working with multiple apps
- Tiling more than two apps on the screen
Hardware
- Add option in CarPlay to overlay a precipitation layer on map
- CarPlay - display text messages when vehicle is not in motion
- Microsoft Teams integration so you can start a Teams meeting from the screen
- Fix inconsistent notifications
- MacBook Air - multiple colors like the new iMacs
- MacBook Pro with M1x with squared edged design a la iPhone 12
- Apple Watch with a round bezel and squared edges like the iPhone 12
- Updated iPad Air’s with Center Stage camera
Let's just hope that the subscription models that were mooted don't come to fruition though!😬Logic Pro for iPad, Final Cut Pro for iPad.
It needs a lot.I hope HomeKit gets some love …
3, 4 and 6, please! I read a ton of books. I genuinely forget notifications and control center all the time. And the Apple Music interface for iOS AND Mac OS, oh where do I start? iTunes, ick.I posted this last night but this thread might be a better place for it. This is what I would like to see at WWDC. I know most of it won't happen, but if I get 1 or 2 things, that might make me happy. I wish these companies would look at what they can do to make what they have better. Everyone really wants the latest and greatest, I want more internal attention to details and just making something that works about 99% of the time.
- Enhancements for the Activity App on Apple Watch to include rest days, weather days, and the option to pick your monthly challenge. Heck, I would say if you finish your monthly challenge early, it automatically gives you the next months challenge, so you have some extra days to complete it.
- Fixing Car Play so Apple Maps doesn't crash the system. I've had this issue a lot lately and it's annoying
- Revamping Apple Music for a 2021 user interface. Have the ability to create folders for curated playlists. Give us the ability to sort playlists and a number of other things.
- Change up the home page. It's basically been the same since I've been using Apple and that was at least IOS 7. The Notification screens are a little bulky, I always forget that control center is there, and I think it is time for a refit
- Change the layout for TVOS so you can fit more apps on the top. I already think the app boxes are a little big, and you should be able to put a 6th app up there.
- Have an Apple Books subscription service. Make Apple Books like a library, where you pay a fee and you can rent and borrow any book from the store. Apple seems to neglect Apple Books, and with all the talk about Ipads, we need to remember that one of the first things the Ipad was used for was a reading device. I need to do more reading, but then I always say that and never actually follow through.
Does Apple even care about enterprise customers?any chance that apple releases an LTS OS instead of a new one every year?
That I won't mind too much, as I don't plan to buy a new Apple hardware product until next year at least. Though I AM considering getting an iPad Mini, but if they remove the home button from it I may not want it.I'll be surprsied they'll be any actual hardware product releases at WWDC. Announcements for upcoming products yes, but no releases.
Hoping you are right !Expect this from Gpu department for the 16 and 32 cores MBP
This is becoming hilarious comparing with the competition
I totally agree -- what's the point of making iMessage more into a social network if it only includes your friends with iPhones?Liking the sound of these. I don't use carplay since my vehicle is old and doesn't have it but liking those other suggestions that I can relate to.
Not a power user and still have a 2011 15" MBP but the display is broken and not worth replacing at that age but would be super tempted to buy a base MBA especially if its super slim, light and cool (not a fan of hot lap).
Software wise iMessage still could use a fair bit of work but more importantly it needs to jump on board with being available on other platforms. Even if it's a paid or subscription app on Android and can run on your icloud website when stuck using a non apple computer. Though if there's a cost I don't see Android users bothering leaving apps like whatsapp, telegram and signal at this point. Apple probably doesn't really care but it's annoying as an iphone user that I have to deal with iphone users who don't want to use any other messaging apps other then imessage and hate using SMS with non iphone users. (no encryption and no cool features like replying to particular messages etc).
I want a more robust version of the mobile device music app and hate that I can only make smart playlist on Mac OS/Windows. I feel like its a feature if more people knew about they'd dial in their playlist. I love having a Rated Recents smart playlist that consists of my star rated songs (could also used loved) that I've added to my library in the past 6 months and as time goes by the older songs fall off that playlist so it's always current but these types of playlist need the computer version of app.
I think the message is clear from Apple. Real friends have iPhones.I totally agree -- what's the point of making iMessage more into a social network if it only includes your friends with iPhones?

What kind of security?Placing widgets anywhere on the iPad Home Screen would be nice, as well as more security.
I like to slum with common people from time to time, but why would I have friends who do not own iPhones?I totally agree -- what's the point of making iMessage more into a social network if it only includes your friends with iPhones?
Honestly, I would love XCODE for iPad. I would be over the moon. Like, words would not even describe how crazy I would get over XCODE for iPad. Haha, I am going crazy just thinking about it. Apple could easily do this...It is time. the iPad Pro models 2020 and 2021 are more than capable of this.Logic Pro for iPad, Final Cut Pro for iPad, Xcode for iPad, better window management for iPadOS, better file system for iPadOS, Beats Studio Buds, and the new Mac Mini. That's what I want to see.
How crazy would it be if they announced that they were bringing iMessage to android and that was the major iMessage update that we are all taking about. Haha. I think I would die laughing.I like to slum with common people from time to time, but why would I have friends who do not own iPhones?
Personally, I like my M1. I really don't know of anyone who updates every time a new MacBook comes out, but maybe I am wrong. I just know with the direction of my job and the direction of Apple involving the iPad, I think the M1 will be the last MacBook I will ever buy. Haha.I don't think we'll see new Airs until the M2 chip is out / or maybe a redesign in fall. The laptops are only 7 months old.
