Thank you for your understanding Apple, and always want the best for your costumer..
nah, itunes deserves to die. i wish they'd kill it on PC and give us an Apple Music app.

I wish they would move to a new OS every 2 years and spend more time refining and fixing bugs. That would suit me fine.
Even though I agree with you in principle, 2 points: 1) The OSs are so iterative at this point I'm not sure if the numbers even mean anything. 2) The tech landscape continues to quickly evolve. Thus Apple would still need to hold an event to inform the developers about the necessary changes to the OS.

New iMac , that’s me sorted

New mini , that’s my brother sorted

New watch , mum sorted

Merry apple Xmas 🎅 😂

Just to start with, Apple rarely actually does major updates anymore.
Usually at WWDC, they announce a roadmap for their software over the next year or so, and then slowly add the features as they are ready.
Going from 14.8 to 15.0, nothing really changed other than some minor things, and most of the major features announced at WWDC weren’t in the operating system yet.
Now going from 14.8 to 15.4 would actually be a big update.
People need to stop thinking of these as huge one day updates, and as more features that will get added slowly over the next year.

I don’t see why I can’t turn on my Apple TV and have a bunch of widgets on the screen showing weather, news, calendar, messages etc. like in so many sci-fi movies, the technology is there. Could even watch stuff in a PIP window, etc. Right now it’s just an un-exciting dashboard.

I'd love PIP where you could run two separate video streams on one screen, much like PIP in televisions now. That would be a useful addition, especially if you make it easy to swap which picture is the main screen and which is PIP.

My biggest issue with tvOS is the number of steps needed to get to the content. The up-next feature was a big improvement, but it's limited to one row? Why aren't movies in a series grouped when added to up-next the way TV shows are? Want to find a movie you save for later three months ago... get ready to scroll right for 20 minutes or go search for it.

I'd settle for next up that works with apps - some apps, when I select aa show from next up, hang and require killing the app and going directly to teh app to watch it.

While I'm at it, stop asking for logins, which seems to happen at every app or system update. Keep login information persistant.

At this point these devices already do more than most people ever use so it's hard to get excited about relatively small evolutionary changes. Revolutionary changes are rare in the consumer electronics industry which thrives on continuous improvement and careful feature placement. What was the last *real* revolutionary change in smart phones/tablets since introduction? Retina? just an evolution of the display. 5G? overhyped and underdelivered. Size? nor really. It just means the market is in full maturity mode and ready to be disrupted by something else - whatever it happens to be.

i’d like to stop the recent annual numeral increase for macos. bring back 10.0 to 10.4628472944 please. 11 was ok, 12 was too much. for me, this is not 12, it’s 11.1. still cannot understand why they have to add one full unit when the changes are marginal, when they used a .1 for bigger improvements. maybe just name it after the year, macos 2022 this year, and macos 2023 next year, if they really really like to wait or rush for changes at the same period of year.
or just throw away the version number. big cats or california spots are more interesting than increasing numbers. keep them but bury them. and use small increments anyway.

I do feel like they have been slow to fix bugs that have been around for years that shows not enough attention to detail or dogfooding. Why is it that the Safari preview is often for a previous web page that you are no longer viewing? Why is it that back in the TV app on Apple TV often goes to the top on the previous list screen instead of where you were? Why is it that selecting an artist using the iPod USB interface plays tracks in alphabetical title order instead of album, track order? (And why wasn’t the person who wrote that publicly humiliated?)

I’ll take it back in a heartbeat, the standalone apps suck

I purchased the original xbox, despite having a PS2, because it supported putting your own music into games. The apple TV should support, at the very least, using Apple music playlists instead of in game sound tracks. Of course, that would be game-dependent, but sports titles should support this.

When the Apple TV notifies you that there is a close game, or big play, or something happening "right now!" there should at least be the option to PIP it. Imagine being able to watch a TV show and be notified that the bases are loaded, your team/fantasy player is in the red zone. There is 2 min left in a close NBA game (cause that is the only part I was going to watch), or a breaking news report (about a topic you have said you care about).

I do think PIP UI might be a challenge for some people.

You probably are having issues with different services than I use, so my experiences wouldn't reflect yours.

I've only had up next not work once, with Stargate Atlantis, and that was because Hulu and iTunes disagreed on the number of episodes in a season. Netflix doesn't care if you enjoy their service and as far as I am concerned Apple, Roku, LG and Samsung need to tell them to either play ball or they will be removed from the platform.

I also don't have login requests. Disney NOW likes to forget you are logged in without logging you out, forcing you to delete and redownload the app.

What apps are giving you trouble?

I hope macOS 13 is just a refinement release with continued bug fixing.
Well…isn’t every iteration of MacOS is a refinement? At least that’s the goal. It’s not like they just wayside things without some improvements.

There is the chance that Apple will discuss their upcoming search engine at WWDC 2022 that was guessed to being rolled out by Jan 2023. So discussion about augmented reality being more a part of the iOS/iPadOS and incorporated into MacOS along with a replacement for google search should prove interesting.

Hmm. I'll be interested to see what limits in iPadOS 16 would be placed on the 2020 iPad Pro's A12Z compared to last year's model with the M1 chip. Also, I hope we finally get a built-in calculator iPad app.

No iPad Pro?

If there was one, wouldn’t that be like the fist thing that hasn’t leaked in virtually last 10 years?

Imagine if iPad Pro with M2 releases along with redesigned M2 MacBook Air. Even less people would go for iPad… I hope we’ll see a major iPadOS revamp before they sell M2 iPad Pro. Maybe they’ll save some great reveal for that moment? But we had the same wishful thinking with M1 iPad Pro, and here we are, almost a year later…
