There are really too many trolls nowadays, to many threads are derailed, moderators do too little about it.

And too many apologists that stick up for the poor decisions and direction that Apple is taking.

Apple is a polarising company and with that will come love and hate comments and this is something that Apple fans cannot take. I used to be strongly in the Apple fan camp but not so much nowadays.

Cook knows we are between a rock and a hard place when it comes to the Macs. windows is still far inferior to OSX/macOS and he knows this. Whatever Apple serve us up in 2017, we'll just most likely whine about it anyway and continue to wait. After 25 years with Mac/Apple, It's really hard to think about Windows again.

Remember: Apple is leaving its long time loyal customers, not the other way around.
What is the difference?

I've just read that Microsoft will be introducing a new surface pro in 1Q 2017. Looks like software companies like google and Microsoft are pushing harder than Apple does these days. Especially now the surface line of Microsoft is getting momentum Apple definitely has to up the ante. Also when you consider decreasing iPad sales year after year now and Apple is telling everyone iPads are the future instead of the 'trucks', it's disappointing to see how sluggish they respond to market change.
I remember I used to think Micro$oft and their new surface book and surface are actually quite interesting, but still Apple kind of prices which made me go with Dell XPS instead when my rMBP died.

I've even managed to by a subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan and 1TB storage (with Office 365), something I never thought I'd ever do. One of the reasons for this was Apple discontinuing Aperture. One consequence of this is that I no longer use photostream between iPhone/MBP so one less reason to stick with Apple.

And if they don't do-it like a rockstar, it'll make my decision to bail and move to Android all that much easier. This is the year I would be upgrading my MacBook Pro and Phone.
I was supposed to upgrade to the iPhone7 and swap phones down the family, but currently in limbo (annoyed they took out the 3.5mm jack). Number 1 feature I want in a phone is probably the camera and looks like you don't always need the fastest phone out there to get that? Pixel was looking interesting until they priced it at iPhone levels with inferior offering but perhaps better camera. I think I heard the pixel was rushed.

You really should mail this one to Tim Cook. Maybe he might remember some lessons from his master and won't let history repeat again.
Better to send to the BOD and let them realize what Cook & Co. is really doing. (Yeah, I know..Wishful thinking....sigh,,,)

There's little to expect from Apple in 2017. I've been disappointed in them for a long time now.
My 6 years old iMac is due for a replacement, but nothing comes and what is expected to come in 2017 is lackluster to say the least.
I hope, not hope but WANT, to be wrong and Apple does give us some great stuff in 2017... but somehow I'm doubting it.

With the launch of the iPhone 7 and MacBook Pro, 2016 has been a mixed year for Apple. The iPhone 7 was released without a headphone jack, an unpopular choice that's now been somewhat ameliorated by the launch of the AirPods, and the MacBook Pro has been plagued by battery issues, graphics problems, and complaints about the high price of the device.

Apple also saw its first decline in iPhone sales in 2016, but 2017 could potentially turn things around for the company. We're expecting the biggest iPhone revision we've seen since the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus launched in 2014, plus we're also expecting major iPad changes, refreshed desktop Macs, and software improvements.

iPhone 8 - September 2017

Rumors about the 2017 iPhone started ramping up before the iPhone 7 was even released, so there's a lot of information out there, and at this point, quite a bit of it conflicts, so it's difficult to get a clear picture of what Apple is planning for the iPhone's 10th anniversary.

If you read all of the rumors and suss out some common themes, there are a few concrete details that hint at what likely to see in the next-generation iPhone. We're assuming it's going to be called the "iPhone 8" due to design changes that are more radical than we'd expect for an "iPhone 7s," but it's entirely possible Apple will go with another name.

It looks like there's going to be at least three iPhone models, and one of those will have an OLED display. It's sounding like we're going to get one premium OLED iPhone somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 inches, with either a flexible curved display that wraps around the edges like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge or an edge-to-edge display more in line with the current design of the iPhone 7.

‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️‍♂️:(

my experience has been most of the people who drone on about how terrible windows 10 is are either using windows on work computers, or havent actually used windows for more than 5 minutes without giving up and yelling about "where's the dock?" "this is useless without safari!" etc., The only thing that's frustrated me about my W10 experience has been the damn updates still are a time-vampire.

personally i think 2017 is gonna be the year apple tries to sell snake oi, er... ARD/A-series chips in their desktops because they're "powerful enough" to replace a real desktop.

2016 was the first year that I didn't bought a single Apple product. Apple fan since 2005, there was not a single product this year that gives me the good old Apple wow.

Thanks for sharing, just realized I have not upgraded any of my apple products this year. Still have 6s and air 2 and they serve me well. The only reason I considered upgrading was for a 7+ for the larger display. I also have a dell i7 desktop from 2010 that does everything I need it to. I think technology and innovation is close to maxing out the "wow I need that" factor hence the slower sales. VR is probably the next big thing, will see how that goes.

This is an unsolvable problem. You're witnessing human nature amplified by the anonymity of the internet. Enjoy.
That, and Apple turning it's back on the Mac.

But I'm sure Apple turning it's back on the Mac has NOTHING to do with any of this, right?
