Sure, Opinions are very much welcome here.
Now, I also think Apple is not what it used to be, I would like them to be what they were just a few years back but, they still make good products that are (much) better than others.
But I am hopeful 2017 will be a better year, Apple might listen to all the negativity which came into the news lately.
I sure hope they would bring back the slide to unlock on the iOS. With a sweaty finger, the press home to unlock is useless.
The Apple nowadays are constantly screwing things over when they are working fine for the sake of change.

They won't drop the numbering, it would be too confusing for most consumers, we'll get things like, the iPhone, the new iPhone and next the new new iPhone.
What about when they release a new iPhone, call it the iPhone but they still keep the old iPhone which they already do for a few years, what you're gonna name that one?
As I said, too confusing.

not really. they update iPads every year and people arent confused. i could see them doing the same with phones eventually. i mean seriously....the iPhone 32? not gonna happen.

Or just too many disappointed ex or soon to be ex Apple users.

The problem is, where do they go, Windows, it's still by far inferior to MacOs.
Or Android, I bought a Samsung Tab 2 months ago, it was actually of my girl but even she agreed an iPad is a much better experience than Android, after I brought it back and exchanged it.

Edit: I wrote iPod, should have been an iPad

At this point who cares? Cook has no idea the damage that has been done and is being done. Probably won't hurt Apple much next year, but Apple is giving up the bread and butter and has no blockbuster in the pipeline. Everything Apple has is now a commodity item (limited growth), but Apple does not know how to manage commodities anymore. Maybe Cook is tired of all of the bad press, and Apple will double down and hit some solid improvements with iMac, MBP, Mini, but I just don't see it.
You're right about that. There has been done very much damage for the people in the creative industry (moviemaking, graphic industry) by neclecting them for the last 4 years and still. Apple should be more loyal to them by being more transparent in their plans of making hardware. Those people have heavily invested in the macplatform and don't deserve to be neglected like now. Making investments in future Apple hardware isn't thrust worthy today because you still don't know if they're going to abandon the MacPro or not. It's not the first time Apple is pulling the plug (Xserver). Apple's computer ecosystem is getting smaller by the day (routers, monitors) and makes you wonder if it's wise to invest into its future. That's the damage Tim Cook has done.

What to expect from Apple in 2017? One word. Disappointment!
Sadly, I agree. Apple have been going down their current road for a while, and I don't think it is even vaguely realistic that they would suddenly change their approach. It will be more of the same: badly designed, overpriced throwaway hardware; buggy software; and a largely irrelevant product line.

Too late for me - I'd been waiting years for a new Mac Pro and 2016 was the year I threw in the towel. I bought a great Windows 10 desktop and a Surface Book laptop and I'm shocked at how good they both are - Windows 10 is a far cry from the crap that I remember from >10 years ago.

There is no reason to hang around to wait for a new Mac - great Windows options exist right now.
I use both, and I track all glitches. What I have found very consistently is that Windows 10 has around 30% less problems than macOS Sierra (macOs SEE ERROR). Windows also boots up nearly three times faster than macOS, on the same hardware.

Windows has improved a lot over the years, but I never thought it would get to the point where it is less bloated and more reliable than macOS.

Lets see what 2017 brings, I have faith it will be a good year.

Hope we get less whiners/trolls/trolling posts next year!

Says the guy whining about the whiner before him.
[doublepost=1483139780][/doublepost]Same iPhone design
More emojis
More politically correct speeches
More of the same under Tim.

Exciting!!!!

2 out of your 5 Apple has publicly made comments that they have abandoned or halted further development-check the sites past articles for information on displays and airports.

But I too would love some Mac love.
I know displays and Airport is a long shot. That said, it makes no sense Apple abandoning them. So I can only hope.

I truly wish Tim Cook read this and still be proud with all those billions (money paid by loyal Apple fans) in the bank. I would really feel ashamed by letting this happen again. It's even more shameful when you realize that Windows has to be compatible with so many different hardware. If Tim Cook really has a passion for Apple tech he would invest more in keeping the best experience for his customers alive instead of focusing on making more profits. In the not so distant past Apple products sold themselves by people having the best experience with it. Proud satisfied users become representatives of a brand.

If this article has any truth about the Apple Watch, you will literally be able to walk in an Apple Store and buy the watch you want at about the same time they announce a new, re-vamped Apple Watch, that will in turn face production problems because of the re-design, and you will then be able to actually walk in an Apple Store two years later and actually buy an Apple Watch at the same time they announce a new re-designed Apple Watch. (Run on sentence intentional)

All while reading articles about how Apple Watch sales have declined.

Any rumours of Apple bringing out a new product before the competition?
After the grand opening of Apple palace 2 and the many documentaries on how much detail and thought they've put in it the interviewer asks Tim Cook: very nice the new campus but how about the products that made you realize all of this? Tim Cook is silent and looking to the sky... then he responds... I can't say much and I don't talk about future products but all I can say we've great things in the pipeline.

Apple is the only one that can fix this.

PS if
an unpopular choice that's now been somewhat ameliorated by the launch of the AirPods
if it was unpopular, I'd imagine it is still unpopular so more:
an unpopular choice that's now been somewhat alleviated by the launch of the AirPods
Taking away a port and selling bluetooth pods does not make a bad thing better.

Someone pls post that "why Xerox failed" Jobs video at least 20 more times, k? Awesome.

MR peanut gallery replies: you shut up! don't tell us what to do! It should be posted at least 20 times *a day* until apple gets its head out of its #$% etc etc derp derp.
