Lots of complaints to be had on this forum. The seeds of entitlement are strong here.
At the end of the day, you’re purchasing devices with many multi-billions of dollars in R&D dumped into them.
Some companies offer devices with higher specs, more features (or more desirable features), etc, but we have infinity in our pockets with top-class design, engineering, and thoughtfulness, wrapped into a symbiotic relationship of closed-end software and hardware.
All of life is pay-to-play, and over the past 12 years I’ve seen members have issues with devices and hardware they will never afford, and likewise will likely never get the most out of that machine ($5000 MacBook Pro’s, for example).
I hope many have the New Years resolution to live within their means and needs. While fantastical electronics are cool, for many it seems they don’t understand that many pro machines are designed to be company expenses and tax writeoffs. For those who get off for dumping money into machines that they’ll never push to the extremes, that’s their business. Chances are 95% percent of people can get by with the new MacBook Air or an iPad if they desire an Apple device for work and play.
Phones don’t need to be updated every year, but those who do never complain about their devices or the cost of said devices, case in point for the iUP program. The same goes for computers. Buy a device that will serve you until vintage.
Happy New Years, and happy decision making. Let’s get some more optimism here. Most of life can be a drag, but chances are if you own an Apple device, you should feel lucky enough to be in a privileged group of world citizens that aren’t spending the evening thinking about the food they haven’t eaten in several days.
