I work for a US global financial firm and every tax form I see from foreign companies has the DD/MM/YYYY format. I think we might be the only country that uses MM/DD/YYYY.
DD/MM/YYYY is just logical.

It's damn annoying too. Why does the US have to use this?
you mean 5/8 5/16
Not necessarily. In the UK we put day/month/year. I think most of Europe do to.
DD/MM/YYYY is just logical.
What do you guys do if you only want to refer to the month and year?
Like for example I buy a car on 5/3/2012 but 10 years from now I only remember May 2012 so I type 5/2012.
As would we ?What do you guys do if you only want to refer to the month and year?

This has gotten so off topic. Have they released the new imac yet ?
DD/MM/YYYY is just logical.
We reverse it.
YYYY/MM/DD
Cricket is just as daft.
You hear "England are 234 for 6" or "England are 6 for 234". Not really a problem....
Until they are 4 for 2.
That's what's known as the Universal date format and it's non country specific AFAIK
442? Sounds like your getting mixed up with football! You know the sport where there's 23 on the field including the ref and the object of the game is to kick the BALL with one's FOOT into the back of he opposing team's net.

I don't want to see another date in this thread unless it's a release date !

In America, a 442 is an Oldsmobile. But I'm willing to bet that most of those who know that aren't spending their time reading about computers.![]()
4 for 2 is a possible score in cricket. It's not very good for the batting team, but certainly possible.
Yip. Was just trying to make a funny...
Dell began rolling out 3rd gen Intel i7 (Ivy Bridge) PCs earlier this week. Now I noticed it even features the latest AMD radeon 7000 graphics cards. The new XPS 8500 features i7 3770 processor and AMD Radeon HD 7770 2GB GDDR5, plus USB 3.0.
Apple must meet even these standards pretty soon and IMO, the USB ports currently on the iMac should all be 3.0 for diverse connectivity. i would definitely like to see a screen size boost, that would be magnificent given Apple has a good reputation with displays. Apple is pretty mysterious about these things. Can't wait for these macs to come out.![]()
