Not sure

That's possible. All Tim Cook said during the earnings call was that we would have new Macs this fiscal quarter. That means, technically, they have three weeks after WWDC in which they could release them. It doesn't seem logical that Apple would get a whole pile of industry pros in a room and leave them nothing to talk about except LAST year's technology, but yes, technically what Cook said doesn't preclude that from occurring.

I would have strongly expected 5/15. Didn't happen. Now I can't see why they would do it any other week than WWDC, out of the weeks that are left. Marketing says you make the most of whatever attention you've garnered.
I doubt that Tim said that.'it will revel apple plans and that something they never do.
I think he meant that, as every quarter , Mac will be the driven force of the stock.

He didt say those exact words but he did say there will be a higher mix of Macs in June qtr.

Crazy New Imac

I believe that the next update will be huge, with features we never expected.
Otherwise; Why would Apple wait this long?!
This is one of the reasons for Apple to wait for WWDC; Because this new iMac will need to have programs written for it!
On that note, I will predict the following "Crazy" New Imac;

Curved Retina 3D OLED display 27-32" (3D without glasses)
Leap technology
https://live.leapmotion.com/index.html
Siri integrated
3D Camera (& FaceTime)
Face recognition
Wireless charging of peripherals (keyboard, mouse, touchpad, iPhone 5, etc).

4-8 cores
1tb HD standard, more optional
256gb HHD standard, more option
USB 3
Bluetooth 4.0
802.11ac wireless
Redesigned speaker system
Redesigned stand system
Redesigned keyboard, (thinner, backlit, wireless charge)
Loss of "chin"
Loss of DVD drive

New Airport Super 802.11ac

Long wait time doesn't correlate with revolutionary update. Look at move from the iPhone 4 to 4S.

Can we expect a maxed out model for the 2012 iMac to be the same price as a maxed out model is currently? Also, is there any possibility that 6 core processors could be used in higher end models? It seems unlikely, but I could make use of them.

4 to 4S was mostly due to Apple not wanting to screw Verizon customers that purchased only a few months before the 4S would normally be due to be released.

You never know... IPhone 4 to 4s took so long because of iOS 5, the software not the hardware. And if iMac is taking so long and we pretty much know that it's not because of the software, it could very well be the hardware.

Cocky Jeremy's post is a more logical reason as to why the iPhone 4s launch took so long.

Gesh this update will make me want to toss out my 2010 iMac but realistically this ain't happening the integration oled and 3D is something apple will invest interest cautionsly. 3d camera and face recognition ain't happening anytime soon, so too wireless charging devices, lol 8 cores is this 2013 or 14 must had slept in.

:apple:just give me
Ivy Bridge Quad Core
Usb3
Thunderbolt( Cactus Ridge )
AmD 7970m
Same design
No retina..

and i'm done

Again apple is very conservative, the new iMac will be the same a little bit thinner, the usual hardware, and anti gloss screen. That's it.
No surprise what so ever .
( look in the iMac history in the past 6 years anything new? Or drastic redesign? Nope... )

Cocky Jeremy's post is a more logical reason as to why the iPhone 4s launch took so long.

Yup. Verizon got the iPhone 4 in November or January. They weren't going to release the 4S in June/July when customers on Verizon only had their "new" iPhone 4 available for 6 months.

These have as much a chance of being in the next iMac as a user-replaceable CPU and GPU. Some of the other stuff in your post probably will appear.

Rite there is reason enough for Apple to do a complete re-design!

- This would have been in the idea stage when Steve Jobs was still working. It has been enough time now to go through R&D and begin to be manufactured.

- Apple needs a big splash for this quarter.

- Jon Ive has said that they are doing their best stuff now.

I would love a user replaceable HD able to be popped in like ram.

I'd love that too, i just don't see it happening unless they're killing off the Mac Pro and this is their idea of making the iMac more "pro" like. Replaceable RAM, HDD/SSD, and maybe even GPU. Like i said, i highly doubt it though.
