Why Apple waited al this time? There weren't any new parts released until recently. There were 5 quarters between the Sandy Bridge release and the Ivy Bridge Release. And Apple usually takes it's time after a new chip is released before launching a new product. The much rumored 680m (supposed to be one of the two possible discrete GPUs to be integrated in the iMac, the other is the 7970m) isn't even released yet.I believe that the next update will be huge, with features we never expected.
Otherwise; Why would Apple wait this long?!
This is one of the reasons for Apple to wait for WWDC; Because this new iMac will need to have programs written for it!
On that note, I will predict the following "Crazy" New Imac;
...
... Little Remarks:
Curved Retina 3D OLED display 27-32" (3D without glasses) - Never. OLED = Samsung, not durable (~3 year life expectancy), costs more then IPS. And I'm guessing if Apple ever integrates 3D in it's products, we'll see it first in the iOS lineup
Leap technology - So you think Apple is going to release it's own Kinect
Siri integrated - Not a Hardware feature
3D Camera (& FaceTime) - Never
Face recognition - Not a Hardware feature
Wireless charging of peripherals (keyboard, mouse, touchpad, iPhone 5, etc). - maybe Apple will announce it's integrated in the current lineup when it announces it's new iOS devices.
4-8 cores - 8 cores are not available for the 1055 socket from intel.
1tb HD standard, more optional - is the current standard, although it's Hard Disk Drive
256gb HHD standard, more options - guessing you mean SSD, I'm guessing the standard will be a SSD or a HDD, not both
USB 3 - Pretty logic since it's included in the Ivy Bridge chipset
Bluetooth 4.0 - likely
802.11ac wireless - Possible
Redesigned speaker system - likely if there's a product redesign
Redesigned stand system - unlikely, they've used the stand since the G5
Redesigned keyboard, (thinner, backlit, wireless charge) - this is just a very wild guess ...
Loss of "chin" - why not
Loss of DVD drive - why not
New Airport Super 802.11ac - possible, or it could be released later on.
