Next week,.probably another iOS thermostat with a different colored light (red perhaps)

on a scale between 1 and 10 for a new imac next week I would say 1 or maybe 10, nothing else.

During the D10 interview Cook said "some great stuff" would be released next week...

Walt: What's coming out next week?

That's a great question, but I'm not going to answer it.

Walt: But what's coming out?

Cook: Some great stuff!

Think he just misspoke or could the iMac (or something else I guess?) possibly come out that close to WWDC? Has that ever happened before?

I think he just chose not to correct Walt on the date of WWDC.

If nothing about imac is mentioned at the WWDC, then what is the best course of action? will you guys continue to wait it out or go with what imacs are currently available?

Personally, an iMac is what would suit my house best right now, but I'm getting to the point where I need to buy something. I will give it maybe a month after WWDC and then buy, but I don't think I'd buy an iMac because I'm sure there'd be other options around that are better value than buying a computer with 1-year-old specs. I guess it'd depend if there were any MBP bumps.

All these hype about a major update because its been too long since the last refresh is giving me the feeling that it will be a disappointment.
I got my first MacBook Pro in 2010, waited for ages that year for the refresh, since the cycle was the longest in the history, and the updated model was a pretty big disappointment, at least for the 13 inch. Hopefully it wouldn't happen with iMac this year.
I think the number of days it took for a refresh is not necessarily an indication of whether the update is going to be a major one or not. Hopefully Im wrong though....

I hope not but if ..i'll buy a Refurb 27"-2011 one.

Did he talk about the week before WWDC?
And Cook didn't answer..so 1+1=Imac next week,before Wwdc
or ..as iMcLovin said

imac 1-2 months after. No way. If not the keynote then tuesday or following week. June for sure

Guys, if the iMac weren't going to be announced at WWDC, it would have been announced already. The desktop Ivies have been available. There is no market reason for them to hold off EXCEPT to make a big unveiling, and a silent or quiet refresh after WWDC wouldn't be a big unveiling. Plus, the reseller stocks of iMacs dwindle further every day.

It's all coming at WWDC. Dogpile. Not how I'd have done it, but then again I don't have $100B in cash in my back pocket so who am I to criticize. And they don't usually do this so it's annoying not to be able to lean on precedent to guess what is coming. But "The week we've all been waiting for" -- how much clearer do they have to be? The full Mac line is getting an update on 6/11.

I think walt quoted the wrong week actually

Yea try designing retina iOS apps on the 13mac pro with 1280x800 res. iPad ret > screen res lol. I think devs should get their hands on hardware early like we do software.

All I wanna say is holy crap. There is so much discussion on the new iMac, and I appreciate it. I've learned alot form this thread(and others) and backed up suggestions and ideas with more research.
I'm definitely waiting till WWDC because in my opinion it's be absolutely stupid not to. I got and iPad2 and an iPhone 3GS. Now keep in mind I'm a musician and record ideas AND I am a total gamer. Been borrowing my finance's 2010 i5 MacBook for diablo 3 and it just doesn't perform the way I desire. And cant set up my receding studio on a laptop.
Really hoping not to be dissapointed on June 11th.

All NDA's have been lifted on everything apple could/would use, the refresh has to be at WWDC, if not... they're making even less sense than with jobs.

What are all the NDA 's from you mention

13 macbook pro. Not 13 mac pro

Yep all the expected components in the refreshed iMac are all available so it only makes sense that we will see a redesign of the iMac at wwdc.

Agreed, no dissapointment the 11th. ..or 12 13th

Dissapointment wil still occur even If imacs are covered yet purchase time is ways off. Announce order arrive use - all in june is the only scenario worthy of no dissappointment. Cant wait for the keynote, many ?s answered.

Im sure mid next week internet info will pick u, ie Apple stores cites to work late on the 5th

I thin the back to school promo will start wwdc week coupled with this new education loan payment option on Apple.com jive with new various Macs

Bumped res seems likely so wwdc will be not just software junk
