Oh yeahhhh this could be. It’s just over a year out from release now.

I look forward to selling my current one on eBay and jumping ship to whatever the new one offers.

Midnight coating anyone?
sole new offering, Ethernet port removed
Well, I guess not! Lol. Oh well.

This was disappointing. It may well be that the 27" iMac is gone forever. 24" is too tiny for any professional use and (for me) to equal my 64GB/2TB (last gen Intel) iMac configuration for a replacement - the only option is the Mac $tudio. (unless I don't really need 64GB - and only a small internal SSD to keep MacOS on - and use external SSDs as work space and more externals as redundant archival space.

I'd consider a 24" iMac with an extra 27" monitor if it was 64GB/2TB - but the memory maxes out at 24MB. How strange!!!!

Looking at one use example people were using Final Cut Pro for authoring multi tracks of video on a 24” M1 iMac and found 16 GB supported it for about 30 mins worth before running out of memory so it was felt that the minimum to deal with that was use a M1 Max which supported 32 GB, had a max of 64 GB. Now the unified memory max for M3 = 24 GB, M3 Pro = 36 GB, M3 Max = 128 GB. So you could readily use a 14” or 16” MBP with extra 27’ 5K display, rather then a display less MAC Studio if you want. The memory bandwith is way faster the that last Intel iMac. It’s like night and day now with M3 Pro/ Max.
