when i showed the ppl in the phone dept my phone, they didn't even flinch. i couldn't believe they didn't care to see the new phone or anything. anyway, i hope they come out with some better cases soon.

Did you expect them to drop on their knees and chant "we're not worthy"?

Not ever person is in love with the Iphone 4. Different strokes for different folks.

If I'm successful at The Mall of America tomorrow I can take the $50 gift card I received when I pre-ordered at BB to use of a case/iTunes cash.

Seems it's hit or miss with BB's and their selection.

I haven't even removed it from the package yet, but here 'tis....

I got that Griffin, too. I had to beg Best Buy to bring them out from the back and let me buy one, but once I showed them my iPhone, I got one. I really like it! It doesn't cover up the back of the phone completely, but it provides some protection.

I live right beside one of the smaller Best Buy Stores in my Area (Raleigh) and they had a red and black Rocketfish case that was absolutely HIDEOUS as well as a Zagg Shield for the front. I got my iPhone this afternoon and don't want it unprotected so I picked up the rocketfish case for $15 bucks until I can get an orange bumper and Wrapsol.

I can't seem to decide between the cheapest rocketfish case, the griffin reveal, or the ifrogx luxe lean. Any suggestions? I just need it until either uncommon or iskin come out with their iphone 4 cases.

I don't care for the Luxe Lean. I think it looks really cheap and it covers up the back of the phone. Not a lot of protection on the top, either.

Just my opinion of course. I really like the Reveal.

Waiting on the incipio feather, that was my fav for 3GS.
Until then I want to find a random cheap silicone temporarily

I went to my local BB tonight and they had the iFrogz cases as well. I got the LuxeLean in the green color pictured in the previous post. They had green, pink and gray to choose from, pink was a no-go (too girly) and the gray looked really booring. I really wanted red, but they didn't have that color. Has anyone seen the new iFrogz LuxeLean in red at their local BB?

They also had 3 versions of the iFrogz screen protectors for the iPhone 4 in stock. Privacy, Mirror and Anti-Glare versions. I got the Anti-Glare and it's quite nice, works great with the LuxeLean case as well. Very similar in visibility and texture to the Power Support brand I have used on my previous iPhones.

The rubber does it make it hard to take in and out of jean pockets?

Nope! Since its just the edge and not the back/whole case, there is no trouble getting it out. Since the phone usually slides out flat against your pants pocket, the plastic usually lets this case slide out very easily. I was wearing cargo shorts today with somewhat big pockets though, so I'll let you know how it feels in jeans tomorrow buddy!

no but is it too much to think someone that makes a career in the mobile phone department would maybe want to see a phone that pre sold 600,000 units and has been all over the news?

Had it occured to you that maybe they already got to play with it? Not to mention that before long everyone and their grandma will have one. Nothing special or exclusive about it.

I want to see what Power Support release in terms of protection/cases !

I really love their AirJacket for iPhone 3G/3GS as you can't even tell its on the phone, hope they release an AirJacket for iPhone 4 as well !

I picked up a gray luxelean, I like the look of it. It'll do till I get a new Vaja.

The size of the i4 screen is exactly the same as the previous ones, right? Meaning any old screen protectors would work, other than the camera spot? I bought some ifrogz anti-glare protectors from the BB also, kinda a pain to put them on, it's hard to line up. I keep getting one side that doesn't want to sit down. I'd rather have a protector like I had on my 3G that only covered the screen itself, that's less hassle to put on. Might switch to a glossy one too, not sure if I care for the color loss in the anti-glare. Though it's also late and my eyes are tired, so maybe it'll look better in the day.

I won't have my phone for another 4-ish hours, but I bought this case yesterday. I'm curious why you say that it isn't good for drop protection. Usually when I drop mine (it happens), it lands on a corner, so I was thinking that the rubber would actually be good. I have a silicone case on my 3GS because cases that snap together always broke open, and the phone ended up on the ground.

Went to the Best Buy in Santana Row in San Jose. They had a small rack of iPhone 4 accessories. No Griffin Reveal though.

I bought the cheaper $15.99 Rocketfish silicone fitted case. I looked at the return policy and asked the cashier and it is a 30 days return policy.

I'm leaning toward SPG Steinheil EX or Wrapsol and maybe a bumper.

Well I actually have no scientific or real world evidence. It's just a guestimation based on the weight and feel of the case nice had many cases in the past and I just have a good idea by holding them which ones will protect the phone in the event of a drop more than others. This case certainly protects better from drops than having no case at all. Just stating the fact so people know there are better options if drop protection was their main priority =)
