UPDATED POST:

Hello,

Every Apple customer knows that their first Apple "iDevice" holds a special place in their heart. What was your first Apple "iDevice"? This forum includes all Apple iPhones, iPods, and iPads (excluding iMacs); include in your post what your first Apple "iDevice" was (including generation) and why you liked that "iDevice". You may also explain what "iDevices" you have had over the years and which "iDevice" is your favorite.

UPDATE: Also, how many of you still have your first iDevice?

MY APPLE HISTORY

About my Apple history; I first got a new iPod touch second generation (32GB)for Christmas. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world because back then Apple was just starting to gain momentum in the mobile touch-screen device market and hardly anyone had one at the time. Eventually, I got an iPod touch fourth generation (8GB) a few weeks after it was released; this is what really got me into the Apple "ecosystem". Now, I own an iPod nano seventh generation (PRODUCT [RED], 16GB) and an iPhone 5c (Blue, 16GB) and my newest edition to my Apple-family is an iPad mini (space grey, 16GB) . We also have an iPad 2 (32GB) and Apple TV along with 2 iPhone 4s, an iPhone 4, another iPad mini and 2 more iPod touch 4g.

I am really excited to view your posts, it is always fun to look into the past when you got your first "iDevice" because they really have changed the way we live today.

THANK YOU, your posts are very appreciated.

Just a quick clarification; I've excluded the iMac because when I state "iDevice" I mean a portable Apple device including iPhones, iPods, and iPads. Sorry, the poll also excludes the Newton but you may express about it in your post.

Update on thread: Thank you to all who have voted and posted to this thread. I enjoy reading each and every post and have been trying to reply to all who have posted to make it a more "personal" conversation thread. I did not expect this thread to grow so fast. I will continue to reply to the more interesting posts!

Have a great day.

First-gen iPod Touch. It wasn't until the 4S that I got my iPhone.

Edit: I was assuming that you meant iOS. I need to change my answer to 4th-gen iPod (now called Classic).

I always thought it would by cool to have a special edition iPod like that, I wish they still did stuff like that. And ya $349 for only 20GB is crazy compared to today!

iPod Touch 2nd Generation 8GB. Bought it when I was 12 (Now I'm 15), and loved the thing. Didn't put a screen protector on it, though, and the screen got a scratch on it. It also got the issue that is apparently common with dust getting under the glass, so I took it into Apple for that and got it replaced.

Ya, my 2nd gen iPod touch is in great condition and the battery is amazing compared to my iPod touch 4 which lasts maybe 20 minutes with brightness on high.

Apple combined my two favorite colors for that addition. I had it for years but all the wear & tear finally took it's toll. Kinda wish I still had it. I have been thinking of buying a new iPod Classic but it would kinda pointless at this point in my Apple universe... still...it could happen

That's awesome... "1000 songs in your pocket" LOL!!!

That's pretty cool...
"A phone, an internet communicator, an iPod"

I miss when that type of stuff was just coming out and it was so cool!

I remember when I had the 3G and I was like one of the very few percent on my campus that had an iphone and we are talking 09 here. Then it got stolen. Now everyone and their mother has one.

Cool. Love hearing from you all. It was so cool to have a iPod touch back then because hardly anyone had one and Apple was just starting to gain momentum. I was the first of all my friends to have one then they all went out and got one because they liked mine so much. Now all my friends have iPhones, iPads, and probably still their old iPod touch.

Some people think of iDevices as something that can run iOS and that excludes iPods. Even some articles say something like "You can download this app if you own an iDevice...."

iPod Photo/color 20GB -> then 30gb ipod 4th gen -> ipod touch 1st gen
-> iPhone 3G -> iPhone 4 -> iPhone 4S -> iPhone 5S
