What was your 1st iDevice?

First iDevice for me was a secondhand iPod Mini in silver, 4gb I think. Didn't use it much though. First iOS device was a second gen iPod touch which I loved, great for surfing/social media in bed. Now have a 5th gen 16gb Touch which is great for bedtime use, and tethering to a phone in poor signal areas!

First iPad was my wife's old iPad 2, great device which I regretted selling. Never got on with Android tablets so ended up getting a Mini wifi which I'm on now!

First iPhone was very recently- a used iPhone 4S which I got a couple of months ago and still using now.

iPod Touch first gen. Bought it from my college campus bookstore when they went on sale as the second gen had just been released (And the App Store just opened.) Got me hooked on app development.

Ya. I dont like the android tablets much either, there isnt anything that makes them that special and they arent really that cool,

That cool that your ipod touch got u started in app developement! Have you created an apps for the app store? Is that a full time job(if you still do it)?

The 4s because I wasted money with Sprint for 16 years - then I saw the light

Ya, the first iphone we had in our family was a 4s and we loved it. I was sad that apple discountined the ipod touch Siri app when they released the 4s. Siri origional was a free app and then apple bought the company and it sucked because i couldnt brag to all my friends with 4s phones that i had siri on an ipod touch...

1st generation white iPod Nano. Best looking iPod ever released IMO

30GB iPod Photo.

Used it a few weeks and then lost interest in it. Wasn't until the first iPhone came out that I bought it and an iPod Classic that made me use the iPod Photo again off and on. The iPod Photo still works and still holds a charge although I haven't used it in about a year again.

There used to be an option in iTunes where you could check to not sync artwork so the title and artist info filled the screen.
I agree the classics can get a bit boring at times especially compared to the iphones.
Here goes...

Primary devices:
1. 4GB iPod mini in green
2. 8GB 2nd gen iPod Nano in black
3. 16GB 1st gen iPod touch
4. 32GB iPhone 3GS in white
5. 64GB iPhone 4S in white
6. 64GB iPhone 5S in space grey < currently own

Secondary MP3 players:
1. 512MB 1st gen iPod shuffle
2. 60GB iPod video in white
3. 2GB 2nd gen iPod shuffle in red
4. 8GB 6th gen iPod Nano in blue < currently own

Tablets:
1. 16GB 1st gen iPad wifi only in black
2. 16GB 2nd gen iPad wifi/GSM in black
3. 16GB 1st gen iPad mini wifi only in black < currently own

Crap. I've bought too many i-devices.
Thats alot of idevices. No matter what apple product you buy it is always fun to play with!

My first iDevice was the 4th gen iPod touch.
Still use mine everyday. Using it right now.

First was the original "not a pack of gum" iPod shuffle.

Then I got a used iPod 3rd generation - 30 GB from a friend.

Then an iPod nano (first generation.)

Then an original iPhone (on launch day.)

Then, over time, newer of each except the full-size iPod.

I never had a shuffle, but i guess that everyone starts somewhere a just keeps buying ipods and iphones!

Mine was iPod touch 4G 32gb black, then soon after bought a iPhone 4 16gb black, used that for almost a year and currently using a iPhone 5 16gb white and loving it! Huge upgrade to my 4.

My first was a 20GB 3rd Generation iPod Classic that I actually earned for free from one of those freeipod.com websites way back in 2005 or 2006. I used to listen to music on that thing for hours on end. Such a great device. :apple:

iPod touch 1st gen.

Thanks for the replys everyone. I was trying to make this a "personal" thread where i could respond to everyone but you guys have overwhelmed me with all this thank you!!!

Pretty sure this is still Apple's best hardware design of all time. I certainly like a lot of other things, but they don't quite top this one.

I feel that the proof for that opinion came out when we learned that the first iPhone was originally using this design as its inspiration. They eventually killed that idea when Jobs pointed out that the curved edges drew your eyes away from the screen, and the screen was the entire point of the iPhone. So although it didn't work as a touchscreen design, this does prove that Ive thought highly of this device since it's the one he went back to when starting work on a phone.

Same, iPod touch 2g. It was amazing back then with WiFi capability. No other pocketable device could let me exploit uni's free WiFi. It was amazing but expensive back then.

iPod Photo was my very first Apple device to own, although I did not have any interests in Apple back then but things changed when Apple released the iPhone. But now of course I'm steering away from Apple again.

iPod Classic 5th Generation 60GB w/Video.

I still remember being so happy when I got that thing. Finally was able to get rid of my CD case that I was carrying everywhere. Paid $400 for it. It was my best friend back during my overseas tour in 2006.

Pretty sure it was a 2nd Gen iPod that i got in 2005,cant remember now what size in memory it was. Still have it but it doesn't work anymore.
